“In the attractive village of Great Budworth, just up the hill from the main A road which is the primary route to reach this Cheshire village, in the middle of the countryside, this is a JW Lees pub in its own old building which certainly fits in and adds to the ambiance of the pretty houses and homes around here. The front part of the pub houses the bar area, with seating either side of the central area, which has a low corridor walkway that takes you immediately to the bar. Here there’s three hand pumps which carry JW Lees ales, including the locally named Great Bedworth Bitter, which is an alias for another Lees brewed ale. The rear of the building is set up for dining, although given it’s not a huge ground floor space everything is a tad cramped. Nevertheless this is a very pretty pub with an open fire and warm atmosphere.“

“Wonderful bar to drink a beer by the fireplace in winter, or to slake your thirst after a cycle in the Summer. Great atmosphere inside, with a decent selection of cask conditioned beer.“

“A lovely place to drop in for a quiet pint or two in glorious countryside surroundings. There’s an old church immediately opposite the pub and apart from a few houses that is all there is in the village of Great Budworth! Takes a bit of finding but well worth the effort, situated mid way between the Cheshire towns of Warrington and Northwich. “

“A delightful, charming 15th Century Edwardian pub/hostelry set in a picturesque cobblestoned village. Olde church opposite the pub is very historic and beautifull. Usually 2 well kept guest ales, many of which are from smaller but well known breweries. Great cask beers and friendly staff. Great place if you can get to it.“
