72 /100 42 PARK LANE
“A short way up the main commercial street on its right if you turn on here from the A523. It’s a wide avenue of shops, restaurants and bars, so you’ll notice the outdoor seating first for this bar, which is housed in a thin, but deep shop unit. The first part of the well lit place is taken over by the seating, with the bar area occupying the length of the second third of the left hand wall. Beyond here there’s more seating. The bar sports the full range of regular ales from the Bollington Brewery, as well as a seasonal or two from their range. It’s a comfortable and friendly place.“

“In the leafy affluent town centre of Poynton, this is a very bright and large ground floor Wetherspoon in its own building just off the main road. There’s little attempt to save the National Grid some energy and its light wood tables, ceiling and tiled floors create a very modern look for this chain along with the funky seating throughout. Food is high on the agenda and it is clearly a family favourite during the hours minors are welcome. One nice touch is your able to view all the kegs currently in use behind a glass panel, while other panels use large filled spirit bottles to create a wall pattern which are also encased by glass. There’s no shortage of car parking space if you include the car park for the shopping area located across the road and there’s plenty of outdoor seating as well. The dual row of ales and usual drinks menu are available although there’s no feeling of it being a ’pub’ in the traditional sense.“
