60 /100 TOWN QUAY
“Facing the small Fowey harbour where the tourists gather and the passenger ferry across the estuary to Polruan leaves from, this St Austell brewery pub has a pink painted front, with its ground floor area elevated and reached by a central set of steps. The front outdoor area is at street level but suffers from being in the shade from early afternoon, although on a really hot day this matters little. The bar greets you as you enter and is central in the building, with all the seats occupying the exterior walls, all offering views of the quaint town or the River Fowey estuary. St Austell’s own ales are sold here with a local cider available too. Food is served here too and it’s a cosy traditionally pub in appearance with soft furnishings throughout.“

56 /100 5 FORE STREET
“Small ground floor pub with two front facing rooms at the start of Fore Street in the small estuary town. The bar is the middle of the hostelry and you’ll be able to sample St Austell’s regular ales here as they own and supply the pub, however as there’s a couple of other places run by the brewery that are better this might not be the first choice place for a drink. There’s several picnic tables immediately outside, and as it’s a very thin street expect vehicles and pedestrians to be passing very close to these.“

Fowey Wines (Beer Store)
37 FORE STREET
“Towards the end of Fore Street, which runs parallel to the quayside, but with limited access to it off this main street. It’s just as much a fishmongers as a wine and bottle shop, but the beers you’ll be interested in are all from Cornwall, so while it may not be of interest to those who already live in the region, it is probably a good place to go for visitors to Fowey who would find it hard to purchase these ales again outside of the area.“
