58 /100 THE WILD BOAR INN, CROOK ROAD, Off one of the quieter roads heading away from Bowness-on-Windermere it's easily to spot being slightly above road level, with a huge car park in front. I cycled here from my base in Coniston on a lovely sunny day to try something from their brewery and wasn't disappointed as everything went to plan. It has a small cosy bar area, but I think the emphasis is on being a hotel and restaurant first and foremost. |
58 /100 THE WILD BOAR INN, CROOK ROAD, Large collection of buildings, including some accommodation. Pub itself is tiny, really just a small bar and a couple of chairs, but it spills into the restaurant area where you can drink as well. Three cask beers and one more in bottles, to consume on sight or take away. There’s a smokehouse in the back, I assume that’s the food theme, but I didn’t eat. Worthwhile if you’e passing by. |
76 /100 THE WILD BOAR INN, CROOK ROAD, Nice place, very good food, good beer brewed on site and a cool atmosphere. Peace and quiet around. |
