62 /100 Shepherds Arms (Bar) KIRKLAND ROAD, ENNERDALE BRIDGE, CLEATOR One of two pubs in Ennerdale Bridge, the landlady told me that the other was a community pub, so I would expect a low proportion of locals frequent this establishment, however there is no reason to avoid it. This is as much a hotel and restaurant as it is a pub, but the small bar does have a couple of local ales available, and although it is set-up for dining it is comfortable and cosy enough. The overly concrete patio at the back has a lovely stream running its boundary and flower pots do add to the ambiance, although more could be made of it - on a hot day you’ll want to spend time here whatever. The village is small so there is limited parking in front, but it is a nice place to stop, and this pub is one of the very few to be open all day, something alien to a lot of establishments in this area even summer. |
