58 /100 Brown Horse Inn (Bar) BROWN HORSE INN’ There's not much to the village of Winster, but this pub is on the main road that eventually leads to Bowness so it's hard to miss. There's no longer any brewing going on here, but the Winster Valley ales are still represented with two cask ales from their regular selection. It's a lovely stone building and renovations were ongoing, with the upstairs areas particularly nice and the balcony currently being improved. There's seats out front on the ground floor, which get the sun practically all day. The bar has an appealing traditional appearance, there's a restaurant and it provides accommodation too. |
68 /100 Brown Horse Inn (Bar) BROWN HORSE INN’ Very attractive stone building in an equally attractive area. Large car park. Pub is downstairs, with a restaurant next door. Young barman was not a beer drinker, but there were a handful of helpful and friendly locals who guided me through the beer list with good recommendations. Restaurant was fully booked the entire night - a good sign, but it meant I couldn’t eat there. A worthwhile stop. |
72 /100 Brown Horse Inn (Bar) BROWN HORSE INN’ Nice cosy pub with a seperate part for the reastaurant. 4 or 5 cask ales and some keg lagers too (standard sh*t). They have their own brewery. Came lateron to eat, nice menu and great food, better than the standard pub food. |
56 /100 Brown Horse Inn (Bar) BROWN HORSE INN’ stopped off here on way to Hawkshead ... stone tiles floor... posh candles on tables ... a nice looking oldfashioned bar crossed with gastro pub ... 4 cask (3 own 1 guest) interestingly 3 of there own on keg, 1 which was smooth flow. was decent enough but nothing special |
74 /100 Brown Horse Inn (Bar) BROWN HORSE INN’ This is the sight of the Winster Valley Brewery. This pub was, now in the Good Beer Guide, is a beautiful place with unique and delicious beers. The staff is super friendly and the beer is good too. |
