52 /100 Codnor Inn (Bar) 1 JESSOP STREET Old-fashioned on the outside but more modern on the inside. The Codnor Inn has two handpulls, both from microbreweries. Kitted out as a Forces pub, which isn't really my vibe. Although it isn't a beer pub per se, you might find a tick or two here as the beer is in good condition. Overall, can certainly be missed. |
58 /100 Poet & Castle (Bar) 2 ALFRETON ROAD Large pub just off the main road. It's an Everards pub with three of the five available cask ales being Everard's standard beers. The others were Doom Bar and Proper Job. At any rate the landlady warned me that after a busy night the beers were all near the end of the barrel, so I opted for a bottle of Leffe which was very reasonably priced. Friendly and comfortable but not a pub to find new beers. |
88 /100 Poet & Castle (Bar) 2 ALFRETON ROAD This is one of the Lincoln Green group of pubs, and is a Project William pub having an Everards beer on plus a range of 5 Lincoln Green beers. Guests were from Nethergate, Lymestone, and 2 from Milton breweries. We enjoyed our Lincoln Green Bowman and Milton Minerva sat outside in the garden. |
