70 /100 EDALE ROAD
“Visited 14/7/2021, early evening. Located 10 or so mins walk from Hope's Main Street. Walkable though no pavements for some of it and traffic was quite busy. Pub is cosy, multi-roomed, maze like. We were only there for a drink before collecting our curry takeaway from the restaurant back in Hope (which was very good incidentally). Just as well we hadn't wanted to eat at the Cheese as it was fully booked. Small bar area, we were invited to go up and choose our drinks (which felt really odd after so many months of covid restrictions) and then sat out back in the sunny upper area. Had a few local ales on, I had one by Intrepid which was very good. Service was brief but friendly. Enjoyable visit.“

“Stayed at the hotel 12-15/7/2021. Offered up about 8 different beers, half were Theakstons, with a few local breweries eg Ossett and Bradfield. Service throughout the stay was good, as was accommodation and food. PS - if visiting its worth checking out the COOP a few doors down who have a reasonable selection of local ales eg Peak and Bradfield.“

“A cosy old stone pub nestled in a country lane about ten minutes walk from the main road in Hope. It’s quite small and on two levels, with steep steps leading from the main bar down to the lounge bar and toilets. We visited just before they closed at 3pm and all the tables were being reserved for dinner later so I imagine it can be quite foody. There were five hand pumps with local beers. 58 /100 MARKET PLACE
“A comfortable and pleasant roadside inn, right by the Hope post office bus stop. It has six cask ales and above average pub food. (Visited 19 May 2017).“

“Large, sprawling Hotel on the main road through Hope, popular as a biking stop with lots of parking and a very popular tea shop cum breakfast bar attached. Multi roomed in the manner of an old coaching in. Somewhat subdued inside but the patio area is fine. Safe beer choices although some rates to be found. Worth a look.“

“Rambling old pub in a Peak District walking area a short stretch out of the centre of Hope down a narrowish lane. There are a couple of rooms, the pub is set up for walkers and diners, no problem with taking in the dog. Local beers available including Thornbridge, nothing new for me but no problem. Good old pub.“
