“Large pub in the Northern end of town, close to the front. There are two large bars, one being foodie the other a sports bar, then there is a garden area. Just Salcombe Brewery beers available on our visit. Not the friendliest pub we have visited but worth a look.“

“Sprawling pub on the opposite side of Fore Street to the Kings Arms. It is a St. Austell pub with guests on keg and a couple of their own seasonals on cask. The bar area is on the right on entry, friendly, attentive service. The food was excellent on our visit. Easily the best pub in Salcombe for us and we'll worth a look.“

“Large pub on the main street through town with a large patio running alongside, some of it covered. There is a bar to the front then food dominated rooms to the back. Not a lot in the way of beers unfortunately, just a beer from Salcombe Brewery of any interest. Very pricey.“

“Down some steps from Fore Street were there is an entrance to this multi level pub. Further down there is a garden / patio area and lovely sea views over the harbour. The beers are just from Palmer's Brewery, this is mostly a foodie pub. Lacks some atmosphere in here.“

“Right by the small ferry that continuously crosses the estuary during the summer months, doing great business taking passengers to East Portlemouth and back. It's half way down the steps to the boat, with its beer garden wall right on the waterfront, making its beer garden the outdoor area of choice of all of Salcombe's public houses. A small two storey pub, the entrance and bar is on its upper level, and as a Palmers pub the selection except for some lagers is mostly from its portfolio, with three cask ales, a craft keg, and two ciders all associated with the brewer. Traditional in style, food is a popular option here.“

“First visited this traditional quayside pub in 2012, the only changes of note on a recent visit are a couple of craft keg ales from Bath Brewery adorning the small bar to the right of the central doorway, complimenting its four St Austell cask brews. There's seating by the window in front of here, and on the opposite side tables are a little more suited to dining as food is served. The rear of the pub has a sloping beer garden up the hill behind with a play area for children and can be accessed up steps through the pub or via a rising path at its side. Local keg ciders can be purchased here, and there's a few in bottles too.“

“Centrally located at the northern end of the small town centre, this is a traditional pub run by the Salcombe Brewery. It has two bars in adjacent rooms that you can walk between. The ‘best’ room side is on the left as you look at the pub, and this is also split partly into a restaurant area. The room closest to the water is more a ‘bar’ area, with a longer service area, which is not used at quiet times, and a pool table that dominates the space at its side. The patio area is accessible from here. There’s four cask ales, three regulars from the Salcombe Brewery working out currently at a whopping £4.60 a pint, which seems a little excessive for a beer they produce themselves, plus one guest ale (a regular Otter Brewery brew on my visit).“

“Opposite the Fortescue Inn, this is a shop on a corner at the central end of the main street that’s small but packs in a fair number of products. Most are of the wine and spirit variety, but a few local ciders and beers, alongside some more familiar national options are available, with South Hams and Salcombe breweries represented here.“

“Visited on Saturday afternoon, 22/06/19. Located in the centre of Salcombe the Fortescue Inn is a 2 room trad boozer with a good sized beer terrace. Carries 3 hand pulls from the local (in Kingsbridge) Salcombe brewery … probs the most you'll find in one place in Salcombe. Added to this there were a few Sharps cask and keg offerings plus Thatchers and Aspalls ciders. Beer terrace was packed on this warm afternoon … inside dead which had a few games machines, pool and table football tables. Service was prompt and friendly, food looked decent enough but we'd already eaten at the Victoria. Definitely worth a visit if in the town, especially if you're after a few Salcombe brewery ticks although these were 3 of the core beers, no seasonals which is what I was hoping for !“

“Visited for lunch on Thursday 28/04/16. Located in the centre of Salcombes main drag the Victoria Inn likely dates from the mid 19th century and split into two rooms, bar to the right with a beer terrace at the rear. Decor is pleasant with pastel colours, stone flooring and local pictures adorning the walls. Probably the most dog friendly pub I’ve encountered with an ’ a la bark ’ menu with doggy snacks ... proceeds of which go to charity. They even have a basket of dog blankets for your dog to lay on. Food was tasty with pork and sea food platters being our picks. The place was fairly busy for an out of season lunchtime ... largely tourists with a few locals in the bar area. Service was very friendly and prompt. At the business end all beers on the 5 cask lines came from St Austell ... usual suspects plus Proper Job and a seasonal ... Spring Fever on this visit. They also had St Austells stout on keg. Overall a very pleasant pun experience with good food and well kept St Austell beers thrown in.“

“Small off licence located at the bottom end of Fore Street, Salcombes main drag. 30+ bottles of local beers from Cornwall and Devon with Summerskills, Teignworthy (including their 13% imperial stout), Bays, Skinners, St Austell, Dartmoor and Quercus. Add to this a few foreign numbers such as Bachhus and Westmalle Dubbel plus a dozen or so local ciders and there’ll probably be a few ticks on offer. Service was just fine .. somewhere for a quick browse if in Salcombe.“

“Visited after lunch on Thursday 28/04/16. Billed as Salcombes oldest pub, the Ferry Inn assumes a great position overlooking the estuary right by the landing jetty of the Portlemouth ferry, of which you have a clear view from the beer terrace. Split over 3 levels this 18th century (my guess) boozer is tied to Palmers brewery and carried their Copper and Best Bitter on my visit, the latter of which was in good condition. Other than that a few Keg taps, the cider being Thatchers Gold. The downstairs bar (on the terrace level overlooking the estuary) was closed ... high season only and the upper two levels, the top being at the street level for the main drag through Salcombe, were decorated in trad pub stylee with reddish carpets, cream walls and black low beam ceilings. The terrace afforded many benches although I was told you would struggle to find one in the peak of the summer ! The food looked good but we had already eaten at the Victoria Inn a little way down the hill on Fore Street. Overall a nice old pub with a great beer terrace affording spectacular views across the estuary ... beer wise nothing to shout home about but if Palmers brewery (Dorset) is not one you’ve come across before then you’ll pick up a few ticks.“
