60 /100 8 HARLAND PLACE,
“The latest pub from the Head of Steam chain that is owned by Camerons. I’m usually quite a fan of these pubs. Thankfully Camerons don’t insist on too many of the taps being taken up with their own beers and there’s usually a good selection of craft beer on tap and in bottle. In the Norton branch they seem to be playing things pretty safe. The two bottle fridges were full of Belgian and US brews, but there was nothing overly interesting in there. Similarly the kegs were the usual suspects. Beers from Brookyln, Flying Dog and Kwak were on for our visit. Prices were pretty high. The Kwak was £8/pint for example. Service was pretty slow too. I think the bar staff were pretty new so were still finding their feet. We didn’t try any food, but it was provided by Longhorns who seem to be everywhere in the area at the moment, so I’m sure you could get a decent burger. Overall, it’s not somewhere to seek out, but if you happen to be in Norton and wanting decent beer it’s as good as it’s going to get.“

“Cosy Wetherspoons pub located on Norton High Street. Modern interior with interconnecting rooms to a central bar. 2 x rows of 5 handpulls although some beers on twice. Usual cheap JDW prices, food, regular beer festivals.“
