Brunswick (Bar)

“Down a side street off the sea front promenade in Hove this is a complete surprise. There is a lovely garden to the left, inside is large and multi roomed. The beer range is extensive, virtually all on the craft keg front. It really is well worth searching out and make Hove a genuinely interesting town to visit for beer.“

“Just down the road from the Bison Beer Crafthouse, it was easy to miss though. This is certainly more restaurant then bar, the vast majority were in there for eating. The beer range was pretty limited with a couple of local beers the others generic nationals.“

“This is a small beer-house fronting on to the main road through Hove. There is seating to the front which catches the sun when it's out, restricted seating inside. All key keg beers on sale along with fridges full of packaged beers. There are 6 taps with beers from around the UK. It's a very decent bar to visit.“

“This is rather an upmarket restaurant cum brewpub down a side street in Hove but fairly close to the Watchmakers. I say brewpub without any evidence of brewing, my belief would be that the beers are commissioned possibly. There is a popular outdoor seating area to the side. It is well known for it's seafood which means many of the tables are booked in advance. Interesting place.“

“Large Wetherspoons on the main shopping street in Hove, an ex Furniture shop by all accounts. It has a reasonable selection of beers on the hand pulls. Very busy, there was a Brighton home game later on, lots of breakfasts coming out. It's a pretty standard Wetherspoons I'd say.“

“Friendly little micropub at the top end of Hove, close to the Railway Station which adds passing trade. Really good service from the busy landlady. It's compact but still comfortable. You make your choice from the list and the landlady brings them to you. No beers from their own brewery on our visit unfortunately but was assured that they still brew there. It has to be done if visiting Hove.“

“Visited on 29/6/21. A snug little spot, a couple of minutes walk from Hove station. A decent number of tables. Five beers on stillage and two kegs lines. Also a few stronger beers in cans. There was only one of their own beers on. Not sure how typical that is. Everything else was mostly very local (Hands, Unbarred, Abyss). I was there at opening, so it was quiet. They open for a couple of hours from 12-2, which is quite old school. Really great service. Chatted with the girl working there about the establishment, the local scene and craft beer in broader terms. Not a million new beer ticks, but a really nice spot to spend a couple of hours.“

“Situated in the Hove area within walking distance from central Brighton, but also close to the train station in Hove. Rather small, nicely decorated, pubroom with a L-shaped servery to the rear. Five cask ales and quite a few craft beers on keg. Popular and crowded on a Thursday eve. (Visited with Finn 17.10.2019).“

“Although it’s not a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of tourist heavy Brighton, it does feel so with a local crowd frequenting this establishment on the nice but passable main commercial street in Hove. If you are staying in Brighton and want to visit here for the range of ales Wetherspoons usually guarantees then it’s a fair walk from the city centre which could be combined with one along the coast. I took the train here from Brighton which was 3 minutes followed by a 10 minutes walk. The pub itself is no more than a couple of converted shop units and the almost square single room is decked out in the traditional soft finished look that’s very familiar for this chain. The service area is small but packs in the usual set of drinks and taps as well as the ale pumps. They were showing football when I visited in the spring of 2013.“
