60 /100 Railway Bell (JDW) (Bar) 13 EAST BARNET ROAD On the east side of New Barnet railway station, just beyond the rail bridge that crosses the main road. This converted pub brought into the Wetherspoon chain is of adequate size for the area, with a central entranceway with the bar in the centre of the pub and seating in various rooms all around it. There’s also a conservatory area at its rear and beyond this plenty of outdoor chairs and tables for good weather dining and drinking. It’s a little out of the way for tourists, but there seemed to be a good local following in here on the Sunday evening I stopped for some food. Its fixtures and fittings are very traditional for this chain, but well appointed. There’s a row of cask ales in the middle of the bar, and plenty of craft bottles in the fridge. |
