78 /100 316 AUTO PARK DR Stopped by at a lunch on a Wednesday and had the place practically to myself. I really like the burger I got. Beer was what I expected ... so-so, but one really stood out. Nice looking outdoor area with big play area for kids. |
68 /100 128 PATRIOT DR SUITES 11 AND, 12, MIDDLETOWN, DE 19709 Located right near First State. Much smaller scale than First State. Pretty simple interior, picnic style tables inside. They do have a food truck on site, so that is a plus. Still pretty new so gove them some time. |
82 /100 109 PATRIOT DR. Nice big, new facility in an industrial park area. Plenty of parking. Food available. Service was prompt and friendly. Pretty large tap list, all well crafted. Spacious interrior, high ceilings, lots of tall tables. Overall, the vibe was great. Really fun place. |
62 /100 316 AUTO PARK DR Big place with a beach theme. Lots of outdoor seating, bar and tables inside. Busy and crowded, but service was good. Beer was not great. Food was available but I didn't order. Theme seemed forced and didn't really add any value. |
76 /100 120 W MAIN ST. Wonderful job they did here, converting a house into a lovely 2 level taproom. Very homey vibe. Smallish bar downstairs, patio out back. Friendly, enthusiastic staff. Fun place to visit. |
80 /100 1861 Restaurant (Restaurant) 423 N BROAD ST Went here for dinner last night. 6-8 taps with no BMC Bullcrap. mostly regional craft with a few other players. Moderate bottle list. Food is incredible. The hot wings are fantastic. Service was pleasant, almost hovering though. Abiance was a nice wood paneled basement, although the lighting was way too dim. Good place though. |
80 /100 Kreston Wine and Spirits (Beer Store) 448 E MAIN ST Always asked if I need help finding anything here. Much better selection and prices then cross town Cochranes. They have a pretty decent selection of belgian beers and other nice bombers. My go to store. |
58 /100 Cochran’s Liquors (Beer Store) 560 W MAIN ST Clean, above average selection, but also quite pricey.
Was hassled once by an older clerk because I didn’t have my "business card".After a few back and forths I figured out he meant my ID. Why not just say that in the first place? Probably wont go back. |
82 /100 Kreston Wine and Spirits (Beer Store) 448 E MAIN ST I like Kreston’s a lot. Don’t think I’ve ever been in there without someone asking if I needed any help. Selection is nice, and has been organized much better as of recent. Can usually find a gem laying around. Prices are a bit lower than other places above the canal, which is a bonus. |
70 /100 Kreston Wine and Spirits (Beer Store) 448 E MAIN ST Stop by here on slow friday... Clean, decent size. Nice wine selection. Beer selection is decent. Sierra, DFH, Southern Tier and other east coast goodies. Beer geek or not, you can find some thing that will make you happy. If you are in the area its worth a look around. |
86 /100 Kreston Wine and Spirits (Beer Store) 448 E MAIN ST All I have to say is ask for SEAN!!! He is the man. He knows his beverages. They rotate selections based on trends and somewhat on availability. Their prices are a bit higher on some items and lower on others. Their rare beers are good ones and they do allow for mixing. They have rare beers in the coolers and also in the end-caps so look around. The storage aisle also has stuff not on shelves just ask to check those out; they don’t mind, just not enough storage space. They openend up another section of the store recently to the right of the entrance for sales and the more populare beers and wines. REMEMBER ASK FOR SEAN... |
74 /100 Kreston Wine and Spirits (Beer Store) 448 E MAIN ST This is my local beer store. Sean, the beer guy, definitely has a passion and it shows. They carry a very nice selection of craft beers that can keep a die-hard happy for his everyday drinking. They carry most of the beer that is distributed to DE that a craft lover would like. You can find Dogfish, Victory, Southern Tier, Unibroue, Rogue, Stone, Troegs, Smuttynose to go alone with the standards. My only complaint is that they don’t always get the best seasonals from these brewers, but only the standard offerings (most of the ST big beer series, though).
Not a huge selection of good imports, but those that are there are nice. You can get all 3 Rocheforts, Westmalle, Chimay...I’ve even seen the occasional Fantome. The prices here for 6-packs, 12-packs and cases are the best I’ve seen in the area. The singles prices are a bit higher, but at least they don’t mind you pulling a beer from a six-pack to give it a shot. |
50 /100 Kreston Wine and Spirits (Beer Store) 448 E MAIN ST I didn’t find a lot to like about this store. Driving right by I decided to stop to give a proper look and report back, but other than 15-20 of the more common national and regional microbrews, there’s not much here to warrant a visit, so I suggest you don’t waste your time. This place shouldn’t be listed on RB, but FWIW it is the only listed store within 10-15 miles. |
