“Located at Delaware Park inside the casino. Hard to find. Small bar area, some additional seating scattered around. Good friendly service. Good variety of taps, decent quality.“

“This is a pretty standard looking brewpub in downtown Wilmington. The staff was really nice and super accommodating. The place has wifi which was very important as I had to do some emergency work while finishing my flight. There is a fair selection of beers. Nothing was truly great, but they had a rauchbier and some other more obscure styles. The food was all pretty good (I had a reuben and my wife had a turkey club, while my daughter had the chicken quesadilla). This is not a beer destination, but a reasonable place to stop if driving through. There is outdoor seating.“

“Man, I wish the beer was better. The place is in a very cool repurposed industrial building that also houses a good coffee shoppe and a quality pizza place. There is ample outdoor seating in the front and the back. Staff are very pleasant. Beer selection is not huge and what is there is second or third rate. That said, I imagine that I will come back here as the ambiance is excellent. They have some stuff to go along with a bunch of merch. Dogs are allowed outside. Very kid friendly.“

“I did an online order from here a year ago. Good experience. Everything was shipped and arrived within a week. Their prices are definitely quite high -- many of the bottles are 10-20% higher than you'd expect to see in local stores, but it's worth the price given their business model. Worth checking out.“

“This is a relatively small and low-key spot in a typical post-war light industrial estate. The place itself has some outdoor seating with picnic tables and the interior with a couch and some barrels with stools. Artwork of television characters adorned the walls when I was there. Nice selection of beers across a number of styles. A few were respectable, most were middling and a couple were bad. Plus they had some cans to go that were not also on draught. Pleasant staff. The place is kid and dog friendly, which for me is supremely important when travelling.“

“Strip mall location for the smallest Total Wine I've ever encountered. Beer selection and, in particular, single selection were wanting. Did have some good DE selections, but nothing to write home about.“

“Cozy brewpub in downtown Wilmington. 12 brews on draft with some interesting selections. Attentive waitstaff at the bar. Food was good and they sell flights of 5.“

“Visited here with my sister and niece. Pretty new place in an odd location, a mixed use multi-story building. Not easliy seen from the road. Parking not an issue. Interior has all the makings of a big chain, concept restaurant. I'm pretty sure their house brews are contracted out. Service was OK, food was decent.“

“First time ordering beer online. Good selection of beer that would otherwise be unavailable to me. Made two orders, both delivered fully intact and as advertised. Only issue is that there can be a delay between ordering and shipping, but, hey, I get to try beer that I otherwise wouldn't be able to!“

“Located in downtown Wilmington. Street parking wasn't an issue later in the evening on a weeknight. Kind of quiet as well. Interesting selection of taps, of the 12 on, 7 were German styles. Did not try the food. Standard brewpub interior, although could do without the sports on TV.“

“Last night in Wilmington and went downtown for dinner. Beautiful location on the riverfront, nice big outside balcony. Beer was average at best, food was OK but nothing special. Some "big" bottles available for sale.“

“Great location on the river promenade ..... nice indoor seating but they have a covered patio and a deck area with great river views ..... extensive beer and food menu with lots of choices. Beer wise they had quite a few IPA’s that were average and sessionable at best .... the server was prompt and the prices were fair .... I’d return if I was in the area again .... definite another good location for these guys“

“My first visit to an Iron Hill brewpub. Big corporates place, with a separate upstairs bar. Lots of taps, with flights of 4 available for a cheap $6. Beer quality was solid but nothing exceptional - none of their top-rated beers were available. Very friendly service. If you’re nearby, I guess it’s worth a stop.“

“In downtown Wilmington, which is much sadder that it should be. Inside is common new style. Lots of white subway tile, some exposed brick, big metal bar with wooden beams above. It's like they stuck all the fads into one space. Interrogation room light fixtures and see through metal gates for ceiling. The place is a full-on Monet. Bartender has resting bitch face. I'm here on a Friday lunch hourish. 11 of 12 taps are being used. Flights come in 5s. I got 2 flights right away. Unfortunately, most of the beers taste like the same base malts with 1 or 2 tweeks. The saison and the hefe taste remarkably similar. But a range of beers, English American and Belgian (tripel and funnel) represented. Food is sandwiches, salads, and skillet. Prices seemed high, all sandwiches over $12, burger is $14, fries extra. I didn't eat. It kind feels like if a Jimmy Johns opened a brewpub. It's an ok stop if you are driving down i95 but I'd recommend going 30 min more and hit up Argilla.“

“Stopped by a couple of times when I was in the area for vacation - a very pleasant surprise. Nice selection of beer, including a few of their own that they let us sample. 8 oz. pours available which was nice for my afternoon drinking session. Terrific food from a menu with lots of variety. Excellent service with one exception (among probably five who served us).“

“Located in what looks to be a big storage unit complex, but apparently not. Easy to miss the turn from the road. Their unit is all the way in the back. Had a food truck outside on a Saturday. Not sure how common that is. Not a big place but plenty of room. 14 beers on tap. Flights available, basically 2.50 for a pretty big sample size. Wood bar, clean pisser. Decent crowd of locals, mix of middle age and young. Dog friendly. Beer quality is "hopefully if will get better but doable again if I was in the area."“

Fairfax Liquors (Beer Store)
2219 CONCORD PK
“Visited August 11th 2016 because it was at 2 minutes from my hotel. I was thirsty and I only had warm beers in my car. It’s a typical liquor store in a small outlet mall. Beer selection is ok. A few domestic beers and other mainstreams as well as imports, especially Mikkeller and some Belgians. But if you look carefully, you can find someting good like Oskar Blues and New Belgium. Most of the beers are in 4 and 6-packs and we can’t open them. Single beers are 22 oz, 25.4 oz and imports. Prices are good compared to similar stores. They have staff on floor but I’ve had to ask for help. Decent place if you are nearby (or lost) and you need booze now.“

“Friend in the area lives nearby so I checked out this location passing by on the way home. Pretty much your average Total Wine with the small warehouse feel. Beer singles and packs along the right hand aisle as you walk in. Wasn’t asked if I needed help but the checkout cashier was friendly. Selection comparable to other Total Wines with the addition of some Northeast locals around DE, NY, MA, etc. Pretty good prices, some stuff cheaper than State Line but obviously not as nice a selection. No sales tax is nice. Wouldn’t go out of my way but worth a stop if you happen to be passing by.“

“Lunch stop on my way to Philly. Right off the highway, which is nice. Large parking lot nice as well. Not busy for lunch on a Wednesday, although I was there a bit after noon. They had about 12 taps running including their five stated "house" beers and a bunch of specials. Bartender was nice, and either answered my questions or went and found an answer. Food was good (I had the Ahi salad). Beers were overall decent. No major flaws or anything, but nothing really stood out from the pack. Interestingly, the four beers I tried mapped to three different Iron Hills in three different states. It would seem that some cleaning up may be in order for this chain?“

“Online order (April 2015) for a 6 bottles box sent to New Hampshire.

Ambiance: The website is user friendly, especially compared to some other online beer stores.

Service: No problem at all here. I immediatly received a confirmation order after I paid. I also received a few emails to give update about my order.

Selection: Everything that is quite limited isn’t available for long but the overall selection is interesting.

Food: n/a

Value: Prices are a bit expensive, but not out of line compared to other online stores. Shipping was rather pricey though... $32 USD for 6 bottles shipped to NH.

Overall: One of the good online beer stores. If they can find a way to reduce shipping ways, I would definitely order more often.

“Stopped in with a buddy to catch up on a Tuesday night and it was totally empty. Bartender greeted us and asked for preferences and made a couple of suggestions and gave us a couple of samples. Beer menu was very extensive and a bit overwhelming. Ordered the mac and cheese, while it was good I thought it was a bit overpriced for mac and cheese!. Overall it was great experience and would recommend it to anyone that likes beer.“

“Ambiance: Decent enough place...but definitely has that chain feel to it. Too cookie cutter for me. Service: The bartenders were decent and semi attentive but not overly knowledgeable about their own beers Selection: Decent selection as they had like 15 in house beers but they had too many overlapping beers...two IPAs, two pale ales, 3 different dark beers, etc Food: Ordered the chicken fajita spiced salad, decent enough for a salad Value: 2 beers and the salad ran me almost 28 bucks...not a great price value. Overall, okay if you are in a pinch for a brewpub but I wouldn’t make it a staple.“

“The bar has been redone lately and has a nice bar area. The food is decent upscale pub food that is reasonable priced. The draft list is much better, with added taps, than it previously was. Good list, but nothing amazing, alot of the regular craft beers.“

“I’ve ordered from CraftShack pretty regularly and have always had a positive experience. Good selection of beers including a good amount of out-of-market beers for my area. Any issues with orders have been quick and painless to resolve. Prices are good and shipping is pretty reasonable, good packing with styro shippers and newspaper. Newsletters a few times a week update on new beers and occasional discounts on slow weeks.“

“Nomad is hidden. It's the best bar in Wilmington that nobody has heard of. Great staff, excellent Jazz music and brilliant ambiance. You can clearly distinguish the regulars from the Nomads visiting the watering hole the moment you walk in. If you are new in wilmington this would be the first place to stop by.“

“Have ordered from here twice. Pros: Amazing selection of stuff that is hard/impossible to get on the East Coast. Prices are roughly equivalent to any bottle shop. Shipping is extremely reasonable compared to other sites. Frequent email updates give you an opportunity to jump on rarer stuff. Cons: Website is slightly clunky to navigate but not awful. Shipping takes a long time. This site is one of the best resources I’ve come across.“

“Placed an order for my Dad for his birthday. Great selection of beers that are tough to find here on the East Coast. Box got delayed big time as I had ordered during their issue with the delivery company. They made up for it big time and got the package to Pops in MD as soon as they could. As long as there aren’t continued troubles with the shipping, these guys are highly recommended.“
