“This used to be called The Sun Inn back in 1772 when it first opened. It’s hard to imagine this area as a pre-industrial age coaching inn stop now but the building with a part mock-Tudor front still has some incredibly large old wooden beams holding up the establishment on the inside, although some of the more modern artex walls and red brick fireplace take away from its historic relevance as a inn. They’ve managed to find a street sign of ’Coronation Street’ which is proudly bolted to one of the beams in this suburb of Manchester. This is a JW Lees pub not too far from Patricroft Station but you’ll have to walk across the canal footbridge to find it on the main Worseley Road. The cask ale available is from JW Lees and there’s also a couple of their keg ales brewed locallly and their own lager brand. There’s a car park, beer garden and function room that also doubles as a restaurant. A pool table is prominent in the single room bar area with live sport shown too.“
