“Just off Church Street close to the shops in Newton Heath, this modern built red brick pub has a typical Holts set-up with a larger best room split from the bar area by a central service area. The former was packed with locals as there was cabaret on. The bar side shows football and other sports on its television screens and is of a considerable size too. If you’re in this area you can try a number of Holts ales on hand pump and pretty much most of the regularly produced bottles. There’s some tables outside.“

“Sandwiched between Moston and Newton Heath, this pub is a trainspotters dream as the railways sidings come right up to the back and side of this pub and it’s quite an active yard for Northern Rail. There’s nothing else on this side of the road than the pub and there’s not too many houses around here either, although there’s plenty of parking space on the small road on the far side of this stand-alone red-brick building. Joseph Holt have kitted this pub out well and the lounge area has a very nice finish to the furniture and fixtures and it’s a relaxingly comfortable place to drink with a central television visible from all areas. The serving area in the centre of the building services both the lounge and the bar area at the rear of the building that includes a pool table and dartboard. There’s a decent range of ales here on cask, keg and a fairly full bottled selection from the brewer.“
