“On the less obvious route out of Rochdale towards Whitworth, although the road this pub is on will eventually join the main one. It’s before the superior Healey Hotel if you’re heading from town, but it does serve food here as well, and there’s an attractive, albeit synthetic looking front patio. It’s a comfortable enough place with several open plan rooms around the central service area that greets you on entry. The ale choice is somewhat limited with a couple of popular choices from the Marston family on cask, although Jennings Bitter is currently available in Keg form here (which at the time of writing has no listing on RB, so I assume the pasteurised bottle version covers this).“

“In the quieter northern suburbs of Rochdale, but on a main road so not the hardest to find, this is a beautifully furnished pub in the traditional sense with a plush and fresh look to it. Entry is via a central doorway and it’s all open plan inside, although there’s various defined areas to sit and sup in. Food plays a big part in the success of this place too, although there’s enough rotating real ales at the bar to please. This is against the back wall to the left as you walk in.“
