72 /100 The Bowl Inn (Butcombe) (Bar) 16 CHURCH ROAD Lovely pub in a quaint village just off the M5 north of Bristol (somehwat tricky to access down winding country lnaes) - focussing primarily on food, there is a small bar area where three handpulls offer beers from Butcombe and alongside some international brands on keg there are also some other Butcombe offerings. It's a cosy place with a good atmosphere, my visit was on a Monday evening and most tables were occupied, mostly people dining. |
70 /100 The Bowl Inn (Butcombe) (Bar) 16 CHURCH ROAD This is a really nice village pub just outside Bristol. Worth a stop of feathering the going to the overpriced service station on the m4 or m5. Nice oak beams give this pub character. They have 5 real ales one always seems to be Rev James, the others change regularly. They also had a Brains Craft beer on keg. |
58 /100 Swan Hotel (Marstons) (Bar) 14 GLOUCESTER ROAD This is an ok pub come restaurant, come hotel just off the m4/m5 junction. As a place to stay if your visiting or working in Bristol this is ok. Good value and better than the near by premier inn. But from a beer perspective limited, as well as the usual suspects they have a few real ales, although, on my visit they were all from the Marstons stable. |
