“We walked here from Spond, we strolled across fields and tracks, Saturday 13th July 2019. There were quite a few of us, me, Loz, Isobel, Jude, Baz, Dad, Pauline, Lynn and Barry. It was a lovely walk and after a stroll around Kington, which was like a ghost town we popped in here. It's a simple and straightforward old school pub, narrow, the bar was on the left as you enter and you sense like many rural places that it is reliant on locals. Sadly there weren't many of those locals today but there were a few folk (youngsters) sat out the back, we also went out the back and sat in the small rectangular courtyard. There wasn't a lot to select from on tap but there was the Arrow beer which we'd come for, Loz and Lynn opted against twiggy beer and had a bottle of Punk IPA each. We had a pleasant time sat out the back which you can also access from an wide alley along the side. The beer was ok, nothing special but absolutely fine. It's an ok pub, it's located quite centrally but I much prefer the Olde Tavern. The landlady who served was friendly, she also let Pauline bring in a selection of Pork Pies from the butchers next door for us to eat in the courtyard, which was nice of her.“

“A small pub on the high street. Mostly locals. One cask ale, which is their own. The rest was standard macro pub fare. Service was fine and the drinks were cheap, but the beer wasn't in the best condition.“

“Lovely little pub on the outskirts of town that I have tried to visit on three to four previous occasions but owing to the difficult opening hours this was the first time I’ve been successful. Quaint, small, old and, and friendly little place that is full of history, looks like it should be a CAMRA National Inventory pub. The glass fronted cabinet in the bar is just rammed with bottles, mostly dating from Royal occasions like the Silver Jubilee etc but also other commemorative bottles also. Beer choice was three local beers when we were there with Hobsons Mild, Ludlow Best Bitter, Wye Valley Butty Bach and one guest which was Otter Bright, the ones we had were very good and at £2.25 to £2.60 a pint excellent value. Great pub.“
