Fox (Bar)
WILLIAN ROAD, WILLIAN CHURCH ROAD
“The Fox, on the main road through the small village of Willian occupies a more prominent position than the other pub in this quaint enough place on the edge of Letchworth Garden City. It’s also more popular because of the larger bistro restaurant area occupying the rear rooms on the ground floor of the building. The bar in the front rooms is connected so it’s very easy to go between both, especially if you want an ale with your dinner as you’ll probably want to check out what ales are currently on rotation at the five pumps in the bar. There’s also a couple of decent keg options here too as well as some bottled ale options. The decor is predominantly light wood and very much like its from the upper end of a Swedish furniture store. The place is very brightly lit too which adds to this impression. Both the bar and bistro are similarly decked out. There’s a car park at the side and rear that can get full and both an enclosed and open outdoor area, with the latter next to the pretty church grounds.“

62 /100 BALDOCK LANE, WILLIAN ROAD, NEAR WILLIAN CHURCH ROAD
“The brewery owned pub of two in the old village of Willian on the edge of Letchworth Garden City. It’s slightly off the main road but visible from it and just a couple of minutes walk away from its neighbour and rival Fox. With 5 hand pumps it has a greater selection of cask available than the Fox, although three of these will be Greene King brews, but there’s two guests available if you don’t fancy these. The inside is fairly traditional in style but a touch worn, however it’s comfortable and friendly and serves food.“
