62 /100 16 HIGH STREET
“Quiet little micropub tucked away on the High Street. I was the only customer on an early Thursday evening, and the beer count was low: two cask beers from micros and an ABK Pilsner on keg. I opted for a bitter from the Nottingham outfit Scribblers, which was a good beer in itself as well as being well-kept. Also had fun playing fetch with the dog. More footfall might allow the bar to increase its offerings, but I'm not sure that Coalville is the most adventurous town.“

“Even by Spoons standards this place conjures up an internal sad face. Among the cask ales there is only one guest (from Elliswood) among the macros. However you can get the usual craft bottle/can menu here with some omissions. Not a particularly recommended stop.“

“Wetherspoon pub occupying a corner building in the commercial centre of this former mining town. There’s little appeal about the high street this pub is situated on, but there’s plenty of appeal to the pub and it is often packed throughout the day offering cheap food and drink. Ales are on two rows of pumps and the decor, although not as attractive as others in this chain is traditional and comfortable.“
