“Right on the Hollywood Beach boardwalk. Had lunch here while sending some emails before moving off to the beach in front. They do flights, but their selection was mostly just pils and other light styles--a little on the boring side. They had a kvass, which was odd. Great patio with great view, and service was good. I had a calzone which was ok. Beer was just OK--lots of better options in Miami/Lauderdale area these days, but this place is predominantly good for location.“

“Located right on the Atlantic, you can’t beat the view. Interior is small, but they have a nice patio. Servers aro alert and friendly, treating their clientele well. Food appears good - try the Bavarian pretzel. Their house beers are above average. Come for the beer, stay for the beach.“

“This is very strange place. They brew completely un-american style. As if it’s an ordinary brewpub in Eastern Europe. What they do is quite ok, but place itself is not exactly cozy.“

“Visited early afternoon on Wednesday January 21, 2015.
Short walk from Hollywood Organic Brewery. Singles selection not huge, 6-pack selection not that huge. On the other hand we wanted to pick up some canned beers after the HOB and going to a beach party, so easy short walk to get a 4-pack of Yuengling Traditional Lager and then head up a few blocks to the Riptide.
As for the area a decent store to get some beers, walkable from the Broadwalk. So if in the area, decent place to go, I wouldn’t get here just for this though, but if you are visiting the nearby brewery and want a liquor store as well, this is conveniently close.“

“Visited twice on Tuesday January 21, 2015.
First visit around 1pm to 3 pm. Had a 16 oz pour each of the "German Pilsner", "Belgian Ale" and the "Russian Knight Stout", which were the three own beers available. Though I wouldn’t agree to the styles in the names of the beers, the beers themselves were all nice and tasty. Saw the ZIP Technology brewery through the window and chatted to the owner a bit.
My friends ate a few dishes and liked it, I had already eaten though, so skipped that part.
Second visit same day was from around 10.30 pm to 11.30 pm when they started to close for the day. Had one more pilsner and one more stout.
Nice view of the Broadwalk with some people watching of the people walking by and at the beach.
Seems a bit of a cluster to park, first time I got there by bus (number 4 line, forget the stop), second time by a ride in the car.
During the day seemed there was only one girl at the bar and one guy taking and serving all the orders, it wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. By the bar had nice, fast, friendly service with opportunity to have tasters of the beers to.
Seems to not serve flights.
Nice enough place and well worth to go to for a few beers if in the area.
Fairly high score for "Selection", is due to it being a brewery with their own beers.
Also as a tourist nice to get some WiFi.“

“Full disclosure, I love this place and visit at least once a week. They are a cash-only, all-$4 beer bar. Each of their 200+ bottled and draft beers are $4 and make for a fun bar. Sure, you won’t find any beers too amazing at that price point, but there will always be something new to try. As someone new to the state (I moved here from Colorado), Old Hollywood is a great introduction to the local beer scene and breweries that I have never had before. You won’t get a Yeti here, but they have Hoss, Claymore Scotch Ale and Hibernation in right now. They also had Titan IPA on draft a few weeks ago. The staff is wonderful and I love the vibe. I hope you will too.“

“Has a great patio right on the beach with fine views and great people watching, but only 4 beers on tap. Fortunately, the beers span 4 distinct categories: "stout", Belgian, wheat and pilsner at the time of my Dec. 2014 visit.“

“One of the worst experiences I have had at a brewery. First of all, parking is a freaking nightmare: good luck finding parking because it is grossly inadequate for the number of visitors. Find a garage. It’s a boardwalk with lots of people. I had to walk about 1.5-2 miles to get to the place once on the boardwalk. Place looks like a small German place on the beach. It is pretty noticeable. Walked up and the place was almost empty except for maybe 4-5 families and the bartender was running around like a decapitated chicken, almost ran me over several times in his scramble to serve people. Took 10-15 minutes of standing in front of the bartender to get a beer. Beer was ok. Nice glass window into the brewery. Beautiful scenery looking out at the beach. Stayed for one beer then left. I can see the appeal of this place, but it will be a bit before I’m back.“

“This place definitely has its location working to its advantage. Sitting out front just above the boardwalk with a wonderful view of the ocean was fantastic. Unfortunately, the rest isn’t that great. Only 4 taps and none of their offerings were that good. And since they seem to have settled on just those recipes, I don’t see the quality changing any time soon.“

“Cool beach side 2nd story location. The seating is picnic tables on the outside deck, with the bar tables and brewery indoors. The brewery is very much showcased in the front window Good people watching of the elderly Russians walking around below. The beers are served in a variety of sizes though there was no sampler or taster available. When I asked, the server brought me a taste of the three beers available in the plastic condiment to go type serving container. I had the shrimp entree and it was tasty enough. This was easy to get to from the FLL airport, and would be a good option if you are looking for a quick bite and beer after landing.

70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Nice beachside brewpub with an incredible view of the Atlantic. Inside is a mural of a German scene, but this is Russian owned. German inspired menu with some Russian dishes. Beers are solid although English=American styles are not their forte. Friendly service. 4 X 4 on for 4$.“

“Right on the beach, which is fabulous. The music sucks but the service is good. The beers are mediocre. But not bad. Beer on the beach is a hard formula to mess up.“

“This bar is a deliciously grungy hole in the wall. They actually have Plank Bavarian Hefeweizen, and I have difficulty finding that in South Florida- most places I go to and ask for it just think I’m talking about the Icehouse Brewery/ Plank Road Brewery. No food, but they’re 1904A and 1904B is a pizza joint, and they are totally cool with letting you bring in a box/some slices for your crowd. The art show on first Friday of every month is a fun event- cool new art, and you can get something unique (or sometimes, something a little crazy!) for your apartment. Not a family establishment, but definitely a cool spot to sit down at, very laid back and helpful staff.“

“Lived in Hollywood for a couple of years and this was my favorite bar in South Florida. Could usually count on the bartenders to introduce me to something new whenever I wanted and their selection was unlike that of any other bar. Only had around six on tap, so most of their selection came from a bottle.“

“New addition to the growing South Florida craft brewing scene. A brewpub on the boardwalk of Hollywood Beach... Sounds daunting since most businesses around are tacky t-shirt and souvenir stores, but the brewpub is at the southern end of that section of the boardwalk. More importantly, the place is quite nice with a large mural depicting a town gate in Germany (looks like Martin Tor in Freiburg im Breisgau, for example) and lots of dark wood. The terrace out front overlooks the beach and the crashing waves; a definite plus. The house brews for now are all quite drinkable, if not forgettable, but these were still solid for first batches. If I were caught in Hollywood again (in-laws were here...), I’d definitely go back to this brewpub to see what’s on. There’s simply nothing else nearby that serves craft beer.“

“I felt like this place was transported from the Czech Republic. The bar is narrow, dark, and smoky with a lot interesting artwork on the walls. Good selection of beers in bottles at a reasonable price. It only has a few draft beers available. Service was not good considered how few people where there at the time.“

“Big beer list. Bitchy bartender wouldnt even pour us a sample from the tap because she "didnt want to do the dishes" and their menus lists a shit-ton of beers that they don’t even carry. smokey as hell in there too.“

“Long, skinny establishment with a bar, a few tables and a couch. Good beer list, and a strong beer focus makes it well worth the while. Good vibe, but for the obnoxious and truly horrible DJ. Nobody was listening but he kept jacking up the volume til my ears bled. Do not feed the swan.“

“College town vibe. DJ is deaf or oblivious. Cage dancing is optional and only for the petite. Solid selection of brews with emphasis on Poland, which appears to be the country of origin or affection for the owner. A few beers uncommon in South Florida are available like Yeti. Use of a large selection of appropriate glassware is a real treat in this relaxed, pleasantly beery spot. No food but right next door is a surprisingly superlative New York-style by-the-slice joint. Downtown Hollywood has come into its own.“

“Nice little bar tucked away on the busy downtown Hollywood Blvd. If you aren’t looking for this bar you will surely miss it. Spunky bartender always makes for some fun conversation at the bar. Has a great happy hour special of 2 beers for $5. Good selection.“

“dj spins (zeb) every first friday night accompianied by local art for sale. smokey, dark and small but still warming. service is great if you have the nerve to talk with someone that is edgey. julie has a mohawk but is sweet and hospitable. buy her a beer and all is good. impressive selection of every kind of beer and proper glassware to boot. not every beer was poured at proper speed but place was packed and i understand as i was once on that side of the wood. i look forward to going back.“
