“Typical ABC as I remember them: lots of shitty locals, a few good locals, other standard craft, mix six packs. This one does have a growler station with 15ish taps to go. Seemed like a decent list highlighted by Funky Buddha Last Snow. May be best bottle shop in this area.“

“generally a fantastic draft and bottle selection. good service. they only have pretzels on weekends, but they are sweet and tasty. indoor and outdoor seating. can get pretty crowded on weekends and special evants...... but hell, that can be fun after a few. prices are average for a beer bar in my opinion.“

“Brass Tap has alright service, is small and usually pretty crowded. Their selection is ok, I do like that they offer cigars. Again, it’s close by otherwise I would probably go somewhere else.“

“You want beer? They got it. As Tampa is NOT a culinary destination it certainly IS a spot to visit some great beer meccas and The Brass Tap is one of them. In an outdoor mall like setting with plenty of inside seating and an outdoor patio for the smokers or others who like to sweat in 100% humidity while downing a Weiss. Service is businesslike and perfunctory but not a negative. Food is provided by the next door restaurant neighbors with Grillsmith being the only one I think is worthy of an order. Beer selection is right near the top of the list and if you cannot find one you like here then you need to find another drink. TV’s for sports and trivia network is also available for imbibers to enjoy. “

“In the wiregrass shopping mall at the corner of Bruce B Downs and SR56. Trendy atmosphere that tends to get crowded during the weekends. You can order food from local eateries. Also, it has a pretty decent selection of cigars that you can enjoy on the patio. Nice place.“

“When my wife lived a block down I stopped by a few times. The prices are pretty steep in my mind, but in line with the rest of the chain. They did have a few Cigar City Beers which made it above average in selection. The service was pretty useless as they wanted to show me some of their favorite macros, oh wait they thought they were micros!“

“Across the street from Wiregrass/ Brass Tap. The selection is pretty good, especially since the little place near Publix closed. They have a small beer section, but they have several micros in the cooler, and they gave me a discount for buying beer in a make-your-own sixer. Many CIgar City beers are available and the average Stone, Southern Tier, Blue Point, et al. I would go back again-it is a decent beer place without delving into Tampa proper.“

“Where to start! The location is very interesting as its in a food and store district made to look like a rustic downtown. Although they don’t have food they allow stuff to be brought in. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the awesome selection of beer. The atmosphere is relaxing. There is plenty of indoor and patio seating. They are also beer rating friendly since two Tampa Tastings were held there while I was in town. They also have a special CCB on tap every last wed of the month. Well worth the time so get out to Wesley Chapel during your visit to Tampa.“

“Unbelievable selection of beer that is constantly being updated and served by a usually knowledgeable staff. Great atmosphere too, but it does get crowded on weekends. A handful of flat screen TV’s usually showing games & trivia. Live music is often featured on the small stage. No food, but you can order from any of the nearby restaurants that deliver. “

“The setting is a little dissonant, as it’s located in one of the new malls that are designed to establish a sense of community by replicating a downtown or antique district--very Disneyesque as far as urban design goes. The bar itself is rather enjoyable, though, with a pleasing variety of offerings and good service. Some in house food offerings would be nice, but there are a variety of dining options around Wiregrass if you’re interested in a more compartmental experience. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.“

“This is kind of a hip place and the only place for miles around where you can consistently get some of the best beers in the FL market on tap. The loud music and approachable fruit beers really bring the people in and pay the bills. This place is crazy rammed Friday and Saturday nights. In doing this it appears they have a solid sustainable business model even if it isn’t perfectly aligned with what the visiting beer geek is looking for. So you won’t be able to have typical casual conversation easily but you will nevertheless enjoy yourself. Each time I’ve been there I’ve marveled at the extensive tap and bottle list and have always found something tasty to try.“

“This place is great!!! I didn’t count the taps or bottles but the beer menu was HUGE! I stopped for the Cigar City Beer and stayed for the kareoke and selection of cigars (this is not a kareoke joint, it was the tuesday night thing). The wait staff was phenominal, I went to sing and my 1/2 smoked cigar was gone when I got back...The waitress gave me a new one without question. Also, they do not have food but a waiter from the place next door comes around every 10 minutes or so to take orders (that food was really good but a bit pricy).“

“Located in The Shops of Wiregrass. Nice clean, new place. Beer selection is pretty good for the area, defenitely geared more to the average beer drinker and less to the beer geek. No food but you can order from next door. I was there for a special event and it was packed and it’s a pretty small place. Prices were pretty high.“

“Nice location in the trendy New Tampa area. Selection had pretty much same beers available across Tampa or at beer stores, many craft beers. Had great service, and even some free food to go along with the event that was going on. Place was just too crowded for my taste, craft crowd mixes with the corona beer pounders. I’ll settle for a quieter environment. It’s a good drive up there for anyone living in south Tampa and Oldsmar area.“

“Smart location. I’ve been here on a few occasions, most recently for a Cigar City event. Bar is clean and new. Big enough to move around in and relax even on a crowded night. The patio is a great addition. They have a great tap list always and tons of bottles. I think they sell to-go’s as well. Knowledgeable staff who know a thing or two about beer and their drafts show it. No food, but Grillsmith next door will take orders and deliver to the bar. Definitely a place to check out in north Tampa-ish area.“

“An excellent beer and wine bar that has grown extremely fast in an area with nothing else to choose from. That being said, the selection is top notch with roughly 30 taps and pushing 350 bottles. Great selection of microbrews, Belgians, American craft beers, Germans, and the UK. Certainly some hard to find beers and reasonable prices. Bartenders are far more knowledgeable than the servers and the ambiance is a bit upscale. Certainly not a pub atmosphere.“

“The owners did a great job constructing a bar that is assuredly going to be a popular location for many years to come. An attractive ambiance, with several TV’s if you are looking for a place to go watch sports and sample great beers. No food. A large bottle and 40-tap selection, nothing super out of the ordinary for a “Mega Beer-Geek” but really nice and well rounded. However, for the average beer drinker, this is almost another planet, but if you are reading this, you’re not the average beer drinker. Of course staff education is paramount, especially in a setting where the retailer is serving a gourmet product that need be accompanied with familiarity; but I imagine that product knowledge will come in time. Overall, this is a wonderful addition to the Wesley Chapel area, and I know it will help broaden the minds and palates of countless people. – A wonderful thing indeed!“

“The ambiance is very good. The service was an issue for me in when they first opened but I will say that things have improved a bit. The selection is worth raving about. They have plenty to keep any beer geek happy although they never seem to have all the items on their beer menu. If you want food you will have to order out but that is easy to do. The prices are a little high. Overall a nice beer bar that I enjoy but the prices are the not best.“

“I have been visiting this beer bar off and on since opening night. Things have really improved over the past 6 months. Ryan is bringing in some of the best beer in the Tampa area, some just as rare as those that Tony at OTH is able to secure. Nice location near the main entrance, food available from a few local restaurants (servers roam the tables asking if patrons want to order from their restaurant), and a great rotating list of beers to choose from--not to mention an impressive bottle selection as well. Looks like this beer bar is becoming the Oldsmar Tap House East for those of us living miles and miles from OTH.“

“Rerate from 1 Sept 2011: Great beer bar in an upscale area of New (North) Tampa. By day it is a sometimes crowded place with great taps and good bottles. They get some interesting and somewhat rare drafts and bottles from time to time. Whoever orders the beer knows what he is doing. They always seem to have Cigar City and local beers on draft. The place gets a bit loud after dark, especially with live music and DJs. During those times the only semi-quiet place is the patio. They also feature a different brewery each month with specials and themed nights. This place is quickly becoming a prime beer bar in the Tampa Scene. Prices can be a bit high on bottles, but they do feature draft specials and draft discounts from time to time.“

“A newcomer on the town, and they are on their first day being open, bearing that in mind, onto my rate: The service was slow, they misplaced my drink, and the prices were pretty decent. The staff knew what mixing was, however they misplaced my snakebite, but ended up with a very good Dead Guy instead. The place really needed to tone down the band because I had to nearly shout across the table. There were ashtrays, but no smokers to go along with them.“
