“I was drinking here before going to Anfield to support West Ham. It’s a large, open-plan, rather typical JDW pub with about 10 different cask ales on offer. About 15 minutes to Anfield and even closer to Goodison Park. Friendly place for away-supporters, at least hammers fans. Very busy during the hours before the match. Forever blowing bubbles! “A pretty standard Wetherspoon in a fine period building in an area that could do with some regeneration. There’s not many of the historic buildings features inside to enjoy except for a fireplace in one of the side walls, but this is very much a locals drinking bar more than anything else. It is handy for football matches in the city as it’s walkable to both Anfield and Goodison from here.“

“right down the road from Goodison Park so it was perfect for a few pints before the game. about a dozen casks, a few seasonals .. decent prices and amazing onion rings .. this place is a better than average wetherspoons. good for the location!“
