68 /100 Handyman Supermarket (Beer Store) 461 SMITHDOWN ROAD Place was a bit worn down and it was wuite cold inside. They serve their own beers on tap and bottle, so good dplace to pick these up. |
66 /100 Handyman Supermarket (Beer Store) 461 SMITHDOWN ROAD This brewpub had their standard selection on cask and bottle in addition to a few extra bottles of their own. They also had some guest beer on both cask and keg and two fridges of bottles. A couple of the guests were local beers, which was what we were looking for. We found five new of their own beers as well as three other beers from local breweries. Really good service. The place itself has a very industrial feel to it. |
8 /100 Londis (Beer Store) 252 WOOLTON RD This place no longer has any beers of interest. Just the standard off license selection. |
68 /100 Craft Taproom (Bar) 174 SMITHDOWN ROAD The area needs a craft beer pub, and at first glance Craft Taproom seems to be just the ticket. Loud music prevails in this grubbily faux Boho establishment, as does a laid back atmosphere (even to the point of opening well after the advertised 4 pm). A variety of craft taps are available including three from the local Love Lane and a couple from Welsh outift Wild Horse. A good selection of cans & bottles as well. Maybe not a destination but if you're in this relatively beer-starved area, it's worth a look. |
74 /100 Londis (Beer Store) 252 WOOLTON RD At first when I entered this place…I thought: Just another boring off licence. How wrong could I be. This is a very small grocery store / bottle shop. Nothing special until you see the fridge. They do have a really great selection of local craft beer. Excellent really! This place is really very sub urban. Bot if you happen to be in this area I really recommend a visit. There should be other Londis stores around also. Pop in if you see one. You will not regret if they have a selection like these one! |
76 /100 Edinburgh (Bar) 4 SANDOWN LANE A really cozy and nice traditional British pub. Friendly and helpful staff. Beers in good condition. Relaxed atmosphere. Can off course be a bit crowded on a Friday evening. Also a patio you can sit and enjoy your beer on a sunny day. The only place I have seen St Austell Proper Job on cask. Absolutely recommendable! By far the best place in Wavertree! |
56 /100 Chillies (Bar) 59-61 HIGH ST Large pub in an area crowded with pubs. I found some Thwaites cask I had not tried. But I will Recommend Edinburgh 2 min walk from here. Solid nice pub |
60 /100 Dovedale Towers (Bar) 60 PENNY LANE A bit off pist in central Liverpool. But many people will like to have a walk in Penny Lane for some reason. This is a really nice pit stop in the end of Penny Lane. Decent beer selection. Quite big inside, and a lovely beer garden outside. Well worth a visit. |
86 /100 Edinburgh (Bar) 4 SANDOWN LANE The Edinburgh is a nice and cozy place to have some pints on Mondays when the local musicians are playing live Irish music there. They also have St. Austell Proper Job and some Liverpool Organic beers on tap and that’s nice too (24.2.2014). |
