“Very large place, large but very full car park. Fiurst room is the spacious L-shaped bar and barstools, with an open real fire and scattered tables, large and small. There are two dining rooms - the one to your left as you enter is cozy and quiet, the one straight ahead in the main room is boisterous but more spacious, with one wall of classic old books and a view to the back garden. There is a covered back porch as well. Judging from the crowds this is a popular food place, but the hostess squeezed me in at a table in the bar. Four cask ales one, one from hyper-local Barnham Ales. Two of the lines weren't being used because they're closing tomorrow for two weeks for a belated Christmas. Well worth a visit.“
