| 68 /100 Royal Standard (Bar) 86 BAXTER ROW, “Visited on a Saturday night in November 2015. Situated on the edge of town this is a large 2 roomed pub. Had screens with Sports on plus a band booked in who were sound checking as we arrived. Range of local beers that changed whilst we were there. Landlord came over to tell us what was next and seemed chatty. Plenty of room to relax in, beer well kept. A decent pub.“ |
| 68 /100 Romany Rye (JDW) (Bar) CHURCH ST “Stayed at the attached hotel for a couple of nights in November 2015. It’s a large Spoons, 2 rooms at the front and the main bar area at a raised level. Beers focus on local cask offerings plus the standard Spoons range. Service was decent. Beer was looked after well and prices were good. Decor was pretty new and looked after, the sauce trays were laid out with OCD levels of precision. It’s a decent Spoons.“ |
