46 /100 6 MARKET PLACE
“With the local 'Spoons for sale, this place might become the only pub in the town proper. Landlord of the Bell just outside town recommended this place for lunch, and the food was indeed tasty. They have full meals at the bar, or a full restaurant with shorter opening hours but a much larger menu just across the lobby. Speaking of which, you enter through an archway into a small lobby bar area, restaurant is on your right and a second bar on your left that overlooks the market square. Sadly just one cask ale on, a Christmas seasonal from Greene King, although they did have two handpulls. Worth a stop for food anyway, and beer if JDW closes.“

“Standard Wetherspoons pub, but in a town that’s bereft of beer outlets it is somewhere you can seek out the odd rate or two. Service is usually pleasant and cheery. The food is standard fayre, not Michelin star but it certainly fills a hole! The beer selection is always good, I guess it’s what you’d expect for the chain, but there is always a good selection of UK and international beers. The prices for food and drink are reasonable.“
