80 /100 CHARLBURY CRICKET CLUB, DYERS HILL
“This is an annual, single day, Charity Beer Festival with the proceeds going towards improvements to the village of Charlbury. It is held in June to get the best of the weather as it is principally an outdoor festival with food and music added. Around 70 beers on sale, all well chosen with some local breweries to the fore. Beautifully situated at the Cricket Club in a Cotswold Valley with views back to Charlbury. The Railway Station is nearby. It's an idyllic afternoon out.“

“The Rose and Crown has come out of lockdown and back to how it used to be: eight real ales, one from Hop Kettle and one from Salopian, plus six guests. Some craft beer and bottles though a reduced range from in the past.“

“Absolute belting pub with constantly changing Real Ales. The quality is paramount and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. A must visit if you are in the area.
Long needed update for Jan ’13. This remains a superb, well run pub. Lots of atmosphere and banter, live music, great beer, changing guest ales. Still worth my highest places mark.“

“This really is a special place. Lovely Cotswold village with at least four pubs (more real ale in less than a 1/4 mile than in most US states), of which, the Rose & Crown is the place to go. Friendly people behind the bar, really friendly locals, a geriatric dog that wanders in and out. Oh, and very good beer. No food, but The Bell just down the street is good, if a bit fancy.“

“I visited on the day of the Charlbury Beer Festival (2003) and was quite impressed with the beer selection, although in fairness they had plenty of extra casks in stock for the day of the event. It sits on the main corner of town, just a block above the church and across the street from the local shops (though there aren't many of those). The ambiance is nice enough for a small town pub but I didn't think it was exceptional. Yet, their commitment to beer is unquestioned and it would be a wonderful resource to have in anyone's home town. Worth a trip if you're in the area.“
