“The rating here is more for the food than the beer. This place does some of the best pies in Britain and at a very fair price. The lounge has always been busy when i've been. The tap range is wide but tends not to stock my favoured brewers. Stocks a lot of True North beers (owned by the brewery I think) which are a littler average. Typically has a few interesting guests however.“

“A bit of a long walk out of town, but worth it for the range of beers. Great selection at reasonable prices.“

“Traditional family friendly pub with a very modern design, not quite what I expected from the very conventional exterior, but a very welcome surprise all the same. The horseshoe bar in the centre of the open plan pub is flanked by decent sized seating areas on both sides, also allowing access to the rear garden area. There’s a good mix of cask and keg options dotted all around the service area, with a focus on Yorkshire ales in the former. Food is served and the venue seems popular.“

“Shop unit in the middle of a long row of terraced houses, on the Abbeydale Road. It’s a good little place to peruse, with a decent mix of British and International beers, alongside local craft producers. There’s no shortage of ales here so it should be easy enough to find something old or something new.“

“Well laid out, smart, and airy shop 20 minutes walk away from the city centre. High proportion of UK beers from all the usual suspects. Plenty of regional beers in stock. Growler fills available from a nicely eclectic choice of four. A few local foodstuffs. Friendly owner. Decent prices. Absolutely worth a visit.“

“I’m really surprised the Broadfield isn’t already on RateBeer as it’s one of Sheffield’s better drinking options. Just a few miles out of the centre, it has a good range of interesting real ales and five craft keg lines. The bottle fridge mostly contains the usual suspects, but they are joined by about a dozen changing ’guests’ that can include a rarity of two. My only complaint would be the fairly high pricing. One big advantage is that it’s just a few doors down from the Hop Hideout.“
