1000 bottles - come on, it’s much closer to 100-150! The number of beers available was a real disappointment after reading the ratings. Anyway, practically all the beers in the fridge, and carefully selected. Most of the shelves were packed with wine, and only the fridges and a few shelves had beer in them. Overall it’s a great beer store, mainly because of the fridges, careful selection and reasonable prices. Not far from the Vatican and the Ottaviano "San Pietro" stop on Metro Linea A. Great selection of Italian beers especially Baladin with a nice selection of other countries - even a decent selection of Mikkeller beers. Had the whole shop to myself late afternoon on a Friday - only one staff member when I was there but she was very friendly despite the language barrier. They accept credit cards. I am surprised to see this is not rated yet. I didn’t make it to Off License, so this was by far the best shop I found in two weeks in Italy. I don’t think there are quite 1,000 different beers, but there is an extensive Italian and Belgian selection, and some things from Germany and the UK I have not seen before. John took a lot of time to teach me about Italian beer, and even opened a bottle for me to drink in the shop. Prices are low for beer, mostly. 15 for selection, because it is far larger than anything else I could find. This is a great store. |
