13 reviews for Lorry Restaurant
| KnutAlbert (150), Oslo, Norway | | September 8, 2005 [ Updated January 30, 2006 ] The service has improved over the last few years, but avoid the pre-christmas season if you haven’t booked a table. They don’t seem to have updated their lists for ages - none of the Norwegian micros are there, none of the interesting imported Christmas beers. I had a Ruddles County there recently that was definitely off. I think this place is slipping. Better then Bar & Cigar where they have a selected few beers which are really good! | | larsga (108), Oslo, Norway | | August 17, 2005 An Oslo institution, Lorry has been around forever, and this shows. The place seems almost lived-in, and is full of athmosphere. The clientele is anything from poets and actors to IT consultants and university teachers. The food is not bad for a restaurant, and excellent for a beer pub. Extensive cigar menu, but they must be smoked outside. Beer selection covers most of Norwegian macros, plus a decent set of Belgian and English beers. Recent addition: Haandbryggeriet, a Norwegian micro. Probably the best place in Norway to have a beer. | | Sigmund (77), Hafrsfjord, Norway | | November 20, 2004 [ Updated May 29, 2006 ] Artists, media people, artist and media wannabes, OAPs, local alcoholics and the occasional stockbroker slummin’ it, all find their way to this well preserved gem of a 1910-20s style restaurant. Lorry are proud of their selection of beers, which is good by Norwegian standards but not really remarkable by international standards. Erdinger Weissbier on tap, which is not common in Norway. Bottled Belgians are Chimay, Leffe, Hoegaarden and Grimbergen. Most beers from Norwegian macro breweries are available. Traditional Norwegian food of medium quality.
