| ogivlado (145), Zagreb, Croatia | | September 16, 2008 [ Updated September 27, 2008 ] Ordered 12 bottles in autumn 2002. I don’t know where to star from so I’ll start from the beginning.
Ambience: What to write about ambience on web beer shop? Nothing (because of that rate is 1).
Service: I got the package after two weeks, considering the year that was reasonable time.
Selection: Both now and then beer lists are very good.
Food: I don’t like cheese, and you can find lots of Belgian chocolate in Croatia, so why to order it.
Overall: Lots of great Belgian beers but too high shipping fee. | | heavy (10), Split, Croatia | | July 14, 2008 [ Updated September 13, 2008 ] Ordered about 30 bottles this spring. Nice, easy navigable site, with general info on every beer. Firstly, staff was great, answering within seconds of sent mails. Selection is great there are lot of famous Belgian beers to be found, but many of them are not available in the stock. After I’ve made an order I was thanked and then nothing for almost a month. I’ve sent a mail on which they replied me after a week to tell me they prepared everything for shipping (?) and that three liefmans beers are not available. Hm...fine, chosen others, but I’ve been expecting it at home already. Then again no reply for few weeks! I’ve sent a mail again they told package have been sent. I got what I ordered except one beer for which I got leffe brune (available in every market here) and they didn’t even apologize. No answer after I told them package arrived. I am really thankful they didn’t put the price list so I didn’t had to pay custom taxes, but really, communication and politeness is at zero-level. Some bottles were so old they passed their BB date. But no matter, yes, I would order from them again, as it’s really great selection of beer and other belgian food. | | IrishBoy (65), Bakersfield, California | | June 6, 2008 Ordered a bunch of Belgian stuff including a dozen bottles of St louis Faro to share around. All arrived safely. Kind of slow but safe. | | joet (43), Fulton, California | | June 6, 2008 Navigating the web site is better than it was years ago. Order enough for a palette to arrive at my door. A couple ottles broken. Let Bruno know. Nothing came of it. All in all a good experience though a bit expensive and it sucked that a couple very nice bottles arrived broken. | | SuperDave70 (14), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona | | June 2, 2008 [ Updated October 6, 2008 ] Ordered a Westy 6 pack from them, as well as a few other bottles just to make the shipping worth it. Buying 12 bottles cost the same for shipping as buying 6, so that somehow made me feel I was getting a deal, or something like that. My Credit Card was charged and I got an email confirmation nearly instantly. Then nothing. Never got the promised user name to get a dicount on the next order. Never got the promised tracking number. After 4 weeks I sent an email. No reply. After 5 weeks I sent an email. No reply. After 5 weeks and 4 days I sent an email. No reply. After 6 weeks and 1 day since I placed the order, I received the package via USPS Express Mail. The box looked like it had been through hell, however the contents were packaged well. No losses. I looked up the tracking number on the package. Not shipped until the day that I sent the last email. That’s fine, I got what I ordered, but would a little communication hurt? Also, how about not charging me for something you’re not going to send for almost 6 weeks? I’m unsure if I would use them again. | sirpsycho (8), Murrysville, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | February 19, 2008 [ Updated February 26, 2008 ] I placed an order for a case of mixed Westvleteren (8 of each style and the wooden case) online about three weeks ago and the order showed up today. The box was literally BOMBPROOF !!! Each beer was individually bubble wrapped within the wooden carrying case and that was then generously surrounded by packing peanuts. Great selection, quick shipping and great packaging !!! I would definately order from them again. | jfga (1), does not count - explanation | | October 23, 2006 I’ve placed 5 orders with them, they held 4 of my orders cause they were waiting for a mug that was misrepresented on their site. Both packages were smashed They gave me very vague replies as to what they’d do to fix the matter. lost my patience with them filed a complaint with my credit agency after they said they would credit my account which they did not do to this date. If you get damaged goods from them you MUST make sure you file a complaint within 60 days! I was on day 59! I honestly believe they had no intention on reimbursing me, I also was in contact with another coustomer who placed his email adress on their site, same problem, same vague replies, and they have and will not credit him back to this date. Their 15-20 day "guarantee" is also bogus. They claim "we ship the package it must be a problem with USPS" Not a total scam I did get SOME beer, just be VERY VERY careful if you decide to deal with them, don’t let them drag the situation out if you get a brken package, they have all kinds of excuses. They also remove all negative feedback from their forums, like numerous people asking... "Where the hell is my beer?"
You can take a look at the gaps in the posting dates as evidence for this. What a selection though. I wouldn’t place an order with too many bottles. They do not wrap these bottles as well as people make it sound believe me | | SHIG (81), Aviano, Italy | | July 18, 2006 Online shopping is nice if you can’t make a day trip to Belgium. They have just about anything you could want. The problem is that the price is at least $2 or more than what you could pay in a real store. Will come in usefull when I can’t make a 30 min drive! | mtdshn (4), Moline, Illinois does not count - explanation | | June 20, 2006 [ Updated June 21, 2006 ] Selection of beers and glassware is really outstanding, however they tend to close for various religious holidays and not inform customers of this. Items are shipped very carefully, and it’s definitely a good place to check out if you’re searching for something that’s not imported (yet) to your country. | | auderale (35), Fairchild AFB, Washington | | January 24, 2006 Just a heads up. You cannot visit this place in person. I looked for it in person for over an hour with no luck. Got home and posted on the site. They just have offices and no shop. I guess everything is done online. Woulda been nice to see what they have in person instead of surfing to see all the glasses. |
