| NobleSquirrel (55), Chicago, Illinois | | January 10, 2009 This is definitely much closer than Bev-art. Selection is pretty good, nice bunch of hops, decent grain selection (though generic) Overall, I’d say that this is a pretty decent spot for picking up supplies and advice. | | SubstanceT (114), Saint Louis, Missouri | | March 27, 2007 Finally had a chance to stop by this place. Also, I am not a homebrewer but have remained interested in eventually getting started. As said already they appear to have good resources to help just about any homebrewer out there. The staff was very attentive to my questions and privided what I feel is good direction. | | Zeswaft (102), Seattle, Washington | | January 26, 2006 I’m not much of a homebrewer. I’ve done two of my own batches and helped a friend with another. This store is for hardcore homebrewers. It looks more like a Home Depot garden center than anything else. They sell different soils, apparatuses, the works. They have few different brand pre-made kits. They have a little greenhouse room of live hops you can buy. Staff knows everything and is very polite. They even offer samples of their own homebrew to customers. You can find all types of ingredients. One of the pre-made kits, "american micro pale ale" or something was pretty disgusting. If you’re going to buy premade kits, stick with morebeer.com. If you’re a pro, definitely check this place out. |
