| eManu (22), Brussels, Belgium | | November 15, 2009 I was a little disapointed with this shop. Its a good effort, but there was not that many beers, and the prices was quite high, although all nice beers, but noting really unusual. I asked for more unusual beer I wanted, and he had to order them and asked me to come back in a few days. So I did not buy anything. | | MikeF (95), Cleveland, Ohio | | August 31, 2009 Small shop down a relatively unpopulated street. a couple of tables out front. Very cool and Very knowledgeable owner. They keep up to date on the current belgian beer trends and stock accordingly. worth a stop. small but focused selection. | | rizzocp (11), , Italy | | August 1, 2009 The best beer shop in Bruxelles. Very nice selection of beer from small breweries, good price an Pierre knows what he sells.
It’s not a "tourists beer shop". | | bhensonb (291), Woodland, California | | July 18, 2009 Just up hill from Delirium. Small shop, but amazing items. Bush de Nuits. Cuvee de Ranke. If you are in the area, this is a must stop. | | sebletitje (78), Tampa, Florida | | June 29, 2009 Indeed, Pierre is the man. This is the spot to visit if you don’t want to deal with drunken and loud people at Delirium.
They keep a few good beers in the fridge that can be consumed inside or at a table outside.
Not the biggest selection in town, but some very rare offerings from around Belgium.
Prices are fair, and in line with other places, and usually a little cheaper as well.
Def. worth the visit.
| | ChristianScheffel (62), Odense, Denmark | | June 15, 2009 Nice quality selection of Belgian beers. Tables in the shop and on the street for those who can’t wait to open the first bottle purchased. Pierre is friendly, knowing and interested and speaks the best English in Belgium. | | Dedollewaitor (75), Odense, Denmark | | December 29, 2008 [ Updated June 16, 2009 ] Longer down the street from Delirium. Very friendly owner. Not as large selection as the rest of the central shops. Alone the non tourist feel this shop has should make you go. He did have the Lindemans Loerik, not for sale though . .
Rerate June 09: The owner is a beer enthusiast himself. Brilliant man. Friendly, knowing, humble and pleasant. Dont go because of the selection - go because of the service and surroundings. | | ¾ (599), Colorado | | June 4, 2008 So it was geocoded incorrectly here on RateBeer (now fixed) - it’s actually just west of Delerium and south of Mort Subite. Small shop with wooden shelves, limited selection, but quality offerings. They had unlabeled (old) bottles of Lindemans Oude Lambik (not the loerek, just straight unbelended) as well as a respectable selection of other lambic. Owner is a nice fellow who speaks English well so there is less confusion when asking specific questions than is common as other places in Belgium. Worth visiting, you may find a rare gem. | | beastiefan2k (108), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas | | June 1, 2008 Last stop in Brussels. I was looking for Dekoninck Gueuze and Chimay Doree. THe owner said he just ran out of the Gueuze and gave me the one of the last 2 Doree’s which he said by this point were display purpose only. He was very friendly and really looked hard for the Gueuze. Unfortunately, there was not much else I wanted in the store by this point. The selection was not as large as other places but I would say a definite stop is necessary if visiting Brussels. Its a small place, very cramped but better service than any of the other stores in the tourist area. Oh and they had an orange emblem Cantillon wine glass that I did not buy but I do not think these are made anymore. | | gary07734 (23), , England | | May 15, 2008 Good selection of glassware, medium selection of bottles. lots of gift boxes and tins, seems quite touristy as it’s almost on Grand Place.
This is just 2 minutes walk from the Bier Tempel which is considerably cheaper. Good for gifts though. |
