| chuwy (15), , Japan | | March 11, 2009 Really like this bar. Not the most beautiful bar or the greatest atmosphere. It is out inthe sticks a bit but the beer selection is the reason why I go here, together with the quality of the beer. The owner knows his stuff. 12 taps plus 1 handpump. They often get beers before other bars and sometimes they have rare beers or even ones that I have never seen in Japan before. Keep your eye on their website, you may just get tempted to head out there. Food looked nice and what I had tasted fine. The fish and chips did indeed look large and quite good value. Had some fantastic beer the last time I was there, including Vertical Epic08.08.08 and Gambrinus, A few stations away from Bicke (looks interesting) and Holic (which I don’t recommend). | | TimE (133), Tokyo, Japan | | October 18, 2008 Easiest beer bar to find in Tokyo hands down. Small place that can seat only 20 people max. More like a cafe atmosphere than bar, still impressed with the 13 beers on offer (no bottles). Constantly rotating selection (I had Iwate Kura Smoked Ale and Shiga Kogen IIPA) with average prices (900 yen US pint/ 1100 yen for UK pint). Food was cheap (everything under 1000 yen) and portions (especially Fish and Chips) were bigger than usual and of decent quality. I also like the fact you could sample any beer for 200 yen, which is a rareity in Tokyo. Not worth a special trip, but if you are in the area (West Tokyo), definetely worth a stop over. | tsukapon (1), Kanagawa, Japan does not count - explanation | | February 28, 2008 New beer bar in West Tokyo. Gambrinus is a small cozy place. 12 tap and 1 hand pump. Mostly Japanese micros and few macros. Taps are constantly rotating. Bottle selection is ...Ah,no selection. Only one bottoled beer is ... barbar, when I visit. Why barbar?
Bar ower is friendly and knowledgeable.
One minute walk from south exit of Kokubunji station. Just the opposite side of the station, don’t miss the signboard on slim bldg.
