While San Francisco doesn't have the quality brewery offerings of the North Bay, it still offers some excellent places to catch a brew including one of the West Coast's best beer bars (Toronado). I've listed a number of breweries to visit but Anchor definitely has the best tour and the post tour tasting is excellent. I've listed Speakeasy though they don't offer regular tours nor do they normally serve their own beer at the brewery. You want to check their calendar though. Their open house parties are a must -- the people, beer and food are all very good and there's usually some music going as well.
