Welcome to North-East Ohio. At first glance, we're a big BudMillerCoors Light beer region, but there is a small and mighty craft brew underground. We are home to some big time award winners including Great Lakes, Buckeye and Rocky River Brewing.
In October 2002, House Bill 371 passed, allowing us to purchase beer up to 12% alc, and the quality beer has been showing up by the truckload at our better beverage stores! No matter what part of the area you're visiting, you'll surely be no farther than 20 minutes from good brew - try Rozi's in Lakewood, Riverside Wine & Imports in Kent, Biddulph Beverage in Brooklyn or Mustard Seed Market in Solon and Akron.
If you're only in town for a day, you must get to Great Lakes Brewing for dinner and a tour. If you're staying longer, try one of our other brewpubs, like Rocky River Brewing on the West side, The BrewKettle in Strongsville, newly opened Cornerstone in Berea, or Willoughby Brewing on the East side. Stop in for a pint or two at Buckeye Brewing in Bedford.
When you visit us, make sure you have room in your luggage for some of our locally brewed beer. You'll need a few 22oz'ers from Buckeye Brewing and The BrewKettle sells a large selection of their bottles at the pub. You might also want to take back a 12 pack sampler from Great Lakes - Maybe you should bring an extra empty suitcase.
