2cl schnaps glas at the brewery. Golden colour, little hazy, no head. Served ice cold. Too cold - no smell, and not too much taste because of the iced temperature. Very sweet, suprisingly not harsh and yes, alcoholic - but less than I’d anticipated. Maybe more a shoot for a record (they advertise it as the world’s strongest beer) than for a taste, but an interesting brew. I would like to try it at room temperatures.

Bottle 100cl. w. swing top @ Brauhaus Südstern, Hasenheide 69, 10967 Berlin, Germany.
Clear light to medium amber color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, keller, wood, moderate alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, aand a moderate alcohol burn in the finish. Body is medium, texture is oily - sticky, carbonation is soft. [20090920]

Hand bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Hazy golden with no head. Rather authentic beer aroma where both malt and hops can be detected quite contrary to other extreme beers. Strangely enough only medium-bodied, completely flat, distinctly German malt character, some hops and a solid alcohol burn in the finish. But surprisingly beery, never cloying or liqueur-like. 240709

2cl@brewpub. Deep golden color, no head. Bready, molasses, some woody notes. Woody, grassy, some molasses, but not overly sweet, some sherry. Warming and interesting. To be drinked lukewarm.

Finger bottled. A golden beer with no head. The aroma has strong notes of alcohol and caramel as well as a bit of bread. The flavor is very sweet with an alcohol burn and notes of caramel and bread, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

Handbottled, trade with kappldav123. Pours cloudy orange with fully gone head. Aroma is cornish, dense malty and smooth alcohol. Solid breadish malt flavoured. Dark roasted and solid alcohol flavoured. Distinct burning finish. Lingering roasted breadish malt flavoured into the very far finish.

Had 2 cl from a bottle of this for 2.50 EUR. Served ice cold. Clear amber coloured with no head. Sweet aroma of caramel, dried fruits and alcohol. Very sweet flavour of caramel, dried fruits and alcohol. Warming alcoholic finish. Sertved too cold, and it’s much too expensive! Why make a strong beer and serve it as a schnaps?

A very small sample in the glass in front of me. Deep golden, almost a bit orange. Aroma isn’t only alcohol, fine hoppy notes reach my nose. The beer starts very sweet, almost a bit sticky. Woody-malty notes follow. The beer becomes more and more prickly, also quite alcoholic. After the second or third sip the beginning is almost mild, the finish is nicely burning. Interesting beer! Big thanks to Brauhaus Südstern for this sample!
