Can 50cl. @ [ Chris O’s pre NYE Tasting ].
Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burntm caramel, chocolate, nutty notes, light to moderate yeasty, leather, apple notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20081230]

Can at chris o’s teabag for 2009 tasting. Alround rating: Very roasty, bready wert, loads of raw alcohol, im very very suprised to see this anything like this highly rated.

A Mes rate. Can at Chris O’s pre NYE tasting. Chris’s tastings are so awesome that something has to be really amazing or utterly vile to stand out from the crowd. Sadly, this was in the latter category. Judging by the rates here there may well have been something a little big wrong with this one but all I can do is call it as I taste it. I agree with Ian about the foot bath but someone with a serious case of foot fungus has been paddling in here. It’s utterly rancid and one of the worst smelling beers I have had. Rich treacle flavour with a roasty finish is pretty poor too in all honesty but it’s a considerable improvement on the aroma. Bad bad bad smelling beer.

Can at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. Smells of foot bath of a swimming pool. Does settle down a bit. Some choc, some hot alcohol. It’s a bit turgid. Some biscuit.

Near black colored with brown hints, little light brown head. Rich porter-berry aroma with chocolate and nuts, only thin alcohol can be noticed. Near full bodied. Flavor is very rich with roastiness, sweet berries, coffee, medium alcohol which still fits here. Obvious Baltic porter, reminds me strongly about Zywiec one. Aftertaste is excellent with sweet chocolaty roastiness, nuts and yet warming alcohol.

Almost bronze head, but disappears immediately, very dark brown, bitterness coming from roastiness, caramel, black smoked malt, sweet, coffee,some fruity hints characteristic for a porter, especially cherry and to a lesser extent roasted plum or prune. Not the best of Polish baltic porters but still one of them.

500 ml can, via rickgordon. Pours a dark mahogany brown under a foamy beige head that retained as a creamy film. Thick sheets of lacing. Aroma is full of licorice, chocolate fudgecake, burnt caramel, a little vanilla, and a hint of marshmellow. Flavor is a nice combo of licorice, roast, chocolate fudge, and light alcohol. Finishes with some caramel and a touch of raisin. Mouthfeel is thick and oily with a nice cloying sweetness on the finish. Nice moderate soft carbonation. A really good Baltic Porter, seems to really hit the style on the head. I’d venture to say that this is somewhat under-rated.

Dark purple colour, light-brown head disappears quite fast. Chocolate finish, very warming, the best beer for winter evenings.
