Cristobal37 (2392) - Tustin, California, USA - NOV 15, 2022UPDATED: NOV 15, 2022 Nitro tap at PDX airport. Pours silky brown, creamy head. Long nutty finish on a basically perfect pub stout. Roasty, smooth, airy, malty. Really great!
coasternut (1903) - VANCOUVER, Washington, USA - OCT 4, 2022UPDATED: OCT 4, 2022 Sampled at the WheelHouse taproom. Pours a dark brown with a creamy head that is medium in size. It has a mild coffee taste with mild chocolate at the finish. The oatmeal smooths out the overall texture.
drpimento (7530) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 8, 2022UPDATED: FEB 8, 2022 I reviewed the original Shakespeare Stout and it got lost which is not surprising. Anyway I think the nitro version should be a separate entry. Both aromas and flavors are slightly sweet, dark malt with some roast and Cocoa. Body is chalky and super smooth. A little coffee in the finish. Very good beer.
one51 (2093) - - DEC 17, 2021UPDATED: DEC 17, 2021 Can at Christmas. Dark brown, small head. Slightly astringent dry dark roast nose. Very smooth bitterness with a lot of well-blended, well-rounded dark chocolate/black malts. That huge bitterness is really well balanced by the nitro oatmeal mouthfeel. Very tasty stout!
SinH4 (15466) - Garching bei München, GERMANY - DEC 17, 2021UPDATED: DEC 17, 2021 Can. Black color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, a bit restrained, delicate. Taste is the same, quite bitter in the back. Velvety mouthfeel with very nice nitro carbonation. Tasty!
pivnizub (12929) - Bochum, GERMANY - DEC 3, 2021UPDATED: DEC 3, 2021 Can: Almost black as milk, medium-sized, creamy and very stable off-white head, moderate to solid dryish bitter-sweet roasty nose with traces of freshly ground coffee, dried fruits underneath; robust bitter and mildly sweet flavour, medium bodied, quite soft; slightly lingering dry roasty-bitter finish. Pleasant drop...
ungespoto (12) - Roma, ITALY - NOV 20, 2021UPDATED: NOV 20, 2021 Comprata come Rogue Shakespeare Stout Nitro @ Rab Cinecittà - bevuta @ Angelo's
StuffWine (386) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 13, 2021UPDATED: NOV 13, 2021 Poured a solid jet black with short brown nitro cascade, dense beige head that lasted very well. Aroma simple of cold espresso and a touch of dusty cocoa. Flavour is typical stout, toasted grain, burnt white bread, espresso, bit of vanilla sneaking in, flavour shifts to very strong wall of bitter coffee. Medium body, slightly watery mouthfeel, long finish. Overall, a little underwhelmed as I was expecting more from a brew so highly rated.
KeefOz (3846) - TARRAGINDI, AUSTRALIA - OCT 26, 2021UPDATED: OCT 26, 2021 BB 23 MAR22. From a can poured an opaque black (even under strong light) with 5mm of tan dense foam that retained very well and laced OK. Carbonation low, slow and very fine. Aroma strongly of roasted malts, sweet vanilla and slight dark chocolate. Taste strongly of roasted malts, coffee and burnt wood with hints of smoke; earthy/grainy mouthfeel; moderate coffee-like bitterness. Heavy body. Very smooth and creamy with a lingering finish.
