COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fergus Mor: the legendary king of Dal Riata was the founder of Scotland according to Medieval and Renaissance myth. Rulers of Scotland throughout its history have claimed descent from Fergus Mor. A fitting name for this, the first beer in the Campeador series, a barrel aged collaboration of Cigar City Brewing and Knightly Spirits. Fergus Mor is a blend of Big Sound Scotch Ale and Bolita Brown Ale, topped off with a wee bit of Imperial Stout and aged in a Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel. Limited release of 204 - 750ml bottles.

Bottle during RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours a cloudy brown with beige head that lasts. The aroma is roast, vanilla, and oak. Medium mouth with brown sugar, caramel, a lot of oxidation but still good.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a tiny beige head. Aroma is very fruity, with red fruits, caramel and cocoa. Flavour is mostly caramel malt, with light notes of smoke, cocoa and dark fruitiness. Not overly complex and sort of watery actually. Probably too old but not oxidized. Decent, though certainly overrated.

750mL bottle, #202/204. Poured coppery-amber with a smoked beige head. The aroma picked up sweet bourbon and brandy plus nutty malts and vanilla.. warm barrel filled the nose.. loved it! The flavor found tangy oak and bourbon on the tip of the tongue, with sweet chocolate, nutty notes, and lesser toast behind.. sweet boozy notes, vanilla, and nutty malts on the long, warm finish. Medium-plus bodied with low carbonation.. just a tad too sweet, but otherwise delicious!

Murky dark brown pour, beige ring, no lace, good legs. Scotch aley flavors, toffee, caramel and green apple, light peat, chocolate bourbon vanilla. Still green appley, light roast earthy bitterness and a touch of roast. Lingering sugary sweetnss. Smooth very full bodied.

MIBRomeo (2570) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Dark brown pour small tan head soapy bubbles. A touch of cedar and tobacco was my first thought. Huge syrup sweetness lots of brown sugar. Well coated lightly sticky palate. Sweet brown sugars caramel a touch of dry wood in the finish. Very good warm finish great in small doses as the huge sweetness really ads up.
