chinhaez (405) - Ouray CO, Colorado, USA - FEB 2, 2024UPDATED: FEB 2, 2024 375 bottle. Bottled 11/30/22. Pours a murky dark gold with minimal head. The aroma is funky with sour fruits and something sorta evil. The taste is tart with mixed citrus fruits, wood, leather and a bit of sourdough bread. There is a trace of acidity, but nothing you don't expect from a geuze. The palate is light and the carbonation is lively. Finishes long, dry and tart. Overall: Decent, haven't seen this in stores in a long while Very glad to try it again. Paired well with some goat gouda cheese. I note the ABV on the bottle says 7.0%

O- 17/18 bottling at 5 years old. A robust funk on the nose that translated in to the palate but refreshing with a slight citrusy acid to bind the funk into a complex flavor. Well made for sure. Paired really well with some Bacalhau Cod Tartlets for my first beer of 2024.
