juiceisloose (3847) - Windermere, Florida, USA - JUN 2, 2019UPDATED: JUN 2, 2019 Entering old ratings. 22oz bottle with at least 5 years of age. Pours a very dark brown and almost black in color and capped by a thin tan layer of foam that fades away quickly and rejoins the body below. The aroma shows notes of dark chocolate, toasted caramel, dried dark fruits, and rich malts to go with notes of bourbon and oak laden vanilla. The flavor follows suit with notes of dark and milk chocolate, rich, toasted caramel, and dried dark fruits up front and followed by notes of roasty malts, bourbon, and oak laden vanilla with just a touch of warmth from the alcohol. Medium bodied and smooth with subtle carbonation that leads to a toasted caramel, dark fruit, and bourbon soaked oak on the finish with lingering notes of toasted vanilla and alcohol warmth. Really nice barrel aged blend of beers and has held up really well for being how old it is.

Lots of woody oak there, smooth and mild. Round and deep in the aftertaste, soft black velvet-like with a great woody finish. Fascinating deep, intense and great balance between the wood and the dark dry malts. Fantastic with dried woody fruits in the end.
