UPDATED: FEB 4, 2020 Porter de 5 % abv, en grand format. Mon exemplaire était âgé. Couleur noir, aux reflets acajou, et opacité moyenne à haute. Mousse brun clair, en nappage à 1 mm en fins flocons. Arômes de peau de prune, bouchon de liège, pêche de vigne. 1ère bouche sans harmonie, pauvre, aqueuse. Arrière-bouche sans aucune tenue, faible. 2ème avec une grande faiblesse de l'ensemble. Arrière-bouche pauvre, sans aucun relief. La longueur ne peut sortir de ce guêpier, avec pourtant la devise … ' love, loyalty, friendship ' .. un programme purement théorique !! Jambes fines, très courtes. Levure basique. Alcool très faible, il est incapable de relever la longueur. Finale d'une tristesse digne de Chelsea .. CONCLUSION : pauvre porter dont la brasserie voulait faire une sorte de memorandum du style .. on est aux antipodes de cela !! Mais c'est normal, Chelsea est un pauvre club de foot … Dont acte. On nitro draft at Trio in Kill Devil Hills it is dark Amber color with a creamy tan nitro head. The aroma is malty with hints of coffee. The taste is coffee and its texture is creamy. Nice coffee finish

Bottle. Dark Brown in colour, almost Black, with Deep Red highlights. Very Malty; lots and lots of espresso coffee, bitter-sweet dark chocolate, cocoa powder, roasty malts, hint of liquorice, hint of nuts. Rich, robust. Dry roasty coffee and chocolate malty throughout. Rather one-dimensional, but interesting. A dry porter. Enjoyed this. Nice Beer! (2011-09-24)

Dark black body brown head some lacing. Looks nice. Cocoa lactose aroma. Taste is semi sweet some milk chocolate, maybe some dried fruit. But really not very rich or flavourful as you would hope for in a porter. Okay.

On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and a touch of dry cocoa. Flavour is quite fruity, with dark fruits, toasted malt and dry cocoa powder. Nicely balanced, with a medium body. Well-constructed porter.

Dark brown color, near black. Some chocolate, some roasted malts, well blended together, but also too mild; mild residual sweetness; not as robust as a Porter is expected to be.
Nice.

Darkish brown with a pale head. Aroma is chocolate, dates, caramel. Medium bodied, thin mouthfeel, slight astringency on the palate. Taste is cheap chocolate, lightly toasted grain.
