UPDATED: APR 22, 2021 Triple ipa de 10 % abv, au niveau ebu très élevé. Houblonnage en cascade, columbus, amarillo et summit. Mon exemplaire avait 3 ans environ. Couleur ambré aux reflets cuivré, clarté nette. Mousse blanc cassé, tendant vers beige, stable à 3 mm. Arômes de fruits confits, mangue, thé vert, zeste de citron, résine. 1ère bouche à l'entame entre exotique et citrique, avec du résineux Arrière-bouche qui fait passer une nuance herbacée exagérée 2ème bouche qui donne des fruits confits, avec de la mangue Arrière-bouche qui est à nouveau sur une amertume herbacée Longueur qui n'arrivera pas vraiment à sublimer cette ipa. On sent vraiment le niveau ebu, mais sans harmonie. Jambes huileuses, assez collantes Levure correcte Alcool fort, mais incapable d'harmoniser l'ensemble complètement Finale avec des notes d'airelle un peu curieuses CONCLUSION : on comprend très bien la volonté d'un brasseur de se dépasser, et en l'occurrence de passer d'une double à une triple ipa ! UPDATED: OCT 22, 2020 12oz bottle courtesy of Headbanger poured into a Snifter. Color is a murky golden amber with mellow carbonation and a thin ring of a head. Aroma is sweet with caramel and citrus. Medium to full body with rich crisp mouthfeel. Flavor is bold giving orange and caramel backed by a strong bitterness and more citrus. In the aftertaste the orange stands out a little more and the bitterness leaving it with a slightly dry feel. Overall it's an interesting brew, but after a bit it all comes across a little strong.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2020 33cl fles. Troebel amber van kleur, middelfijne romige creme schuimkraag. De geur is hars en tropisch fruit. Smaak is zoet, droog karamel, hars en citrus. Medium body en veel koolzuur.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2019 Bottle. Orange golden color. Raisin, oily hops and red berries in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with oily hops, raisin, red fruit. Piney, a harsh bitterness. Slightly alcoholic.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2019 Tap@Blue Raven, Copenhagen - hazy dark amber with a white head. Sweet fruity and malty with some grapefruit and tangerine, some citrus shred, big solid caramel malty backbone, some biscuity toffee notes, sticky resinous hoppy finish. Great old school dipa action.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2018 35,5cl-fles van bij Bierhalle Deconinck te Vichte. U: Helder amber met een écru schuimkraag. G: Hoppig, karamel, hars en gedroogd tropisch fruit. S: Bitterzoet. Gedroogd tropisch fruitig, karamel en harsig. Wat citrus. M: Medium body en medium carbonatie.

Aus der Flasche im 2018-10 getrunken. Beim ersten Schluck schlägt die Hopfenbitterkeit recht hart zu und es war kaum trinkbar. Doch als es wärmer wurde fing eine Alkohlische Süße diese Bitterkeit ein und gleich sie sogar recht gut aus, was für mich typisch für ein Triple IPA ist. An Ende war es sehr gut genießbar aber dennoch nicht ganz harmonisch.

Bottled. 15cl sample. The aroma has caramel/toffee, orange peel, pine. Clear, orange coloured beer with an off-white, medium sized head. The taste is moderate bitter, with toffee/biscuit sweetness, piney tones, some citrus. Full bodied beer. Nice

Imperial IPA by this popular brewing company in Ohio, bottle from De Caigny. Cobweb-lacing, egg-white, thick and creamy, very stable head over an initially clean, warm amberish-hued orange blonde beer with coppery tinge. Aroma of dried mango and dried orange peel, old bread crust, toasted onions, lots of grapefruit, green olives, old dusty chicken spices, gin, persimmon, wormwood, bitterroot. Low sweetishness in the onset, notes of tamarillo, dried mango and grapefruit, minerally side notes, oily and somewhat vinous mouthfeel; bread crust- and dried out biscuit-like malt body, full and rounded, over which a huge ‘cloud’ of hoppiness is draped, pushing upwards retronasal aromas of grapefruit, gin spices, red curry and wormwood leaves but, more than anything else, covering the mouth in an oily, very bold, peppery and tonic water-like bitterness, which lasts and lasts – this is DIPA (or IIPA) in the harsh, completely uncompromising old school way, and in these NEIPA-hyped times, I for one welcome this return to the bitter roots of modern American IPA. Hoppin’ Frog rarely disappoints.

Color naranja profundo, turbio, con capa de espuma blanca de dos dedos de grosor y retención decente. Carbonatación suave. Textura oleosa. Aroma a cítricos, cáscara de cítricos, mermelada de cítricos, malta caramelizada de fondo, ligera humedad y resina. También algo de alcohol, sobre todo según va a atemperando. En boca hay cítricos, mucha naranja y pomelo, cáscara de naranja, malta caramelizada, fruta dulce y resina. Ligeramente dulce en boca. Bastante amarga al final del trago. Amargor resinoso que se mantiene en regusto y postgusto con bastante intensidad. Seca. Bien, aunque da sensación de vejez y no sé si es cosa mía o realidad.
