COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

Arbitrage411 (343) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 30, 2023
UPDATED: MAY 30, 2023 Pours a thick opaque black under a rich compact bubble beige creamy head. Peanut butter nose. A chocolate, non bitter flavor from the first sip which is easy going down. A residual sugary umami presents. The beige head top remains intact throughout the drink entirety, and so a good looking appearance. The chocolate cake pastry taste is an easy mouthfeel leading to a smooth sweet finish.

Kleg (2979) - The Beach, Florida, USA - APR 2, 2023
UPDATED: APR 2, 2023 Pours a pitch black color with dark amber highlights and a small, tight khaki head with excellent retention. Great lacing too. Okay nitro action for a can. Dark malts and chocolate and coffee aroma. The taste follows the nose: Dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, and coffee flavors blend well together. Very creamy mouthfeel with almost no carbonation. Very smooth and clean. Not sweet like many milk stouts. Light body. Some dark chocolate bitterness.

chris__hartley (600) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 21, 2023
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2023 It pours opaque black; the head is off white and mousse like that lingers. The aroma has notes of: charcoal, chocolate, lactose, and anise. The taste is lightly sweet that finishes medium bitter. The palate is medium bodied, has low nitrogenation; the mouthfeel is creamy and rich with a medium finish. Overall, the taste is lacking but the body makes up for it.
