COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

DraftDodger (7604) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 6, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2018 Copenhagen 6/8 2018. 50 cl bottle from Best of Beers Webshop. Drawing of a Grasshopper on the label. Pours opaque dark brown with light beige head. Bubbly. Settles as thin but creamy layer of foam obscuring the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing. Aroma is sweet and medium intense. Solid Malt backbone with caramel, brown sugar, roasted malts with very light notes of smoke. More subdued bitter, citric notes. Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, lightly prickly texture. Flavor has fairly strong sweetness followed by even stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingering. Very nice Black IPA with strong bitterness and a solid malty basis.

Good body, lots of alcohol, almost hidden behind the dry hoppy finish. Drink it alone.

nybol (4230) - DENMARK - JUL 11, 2017

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark, very close to black, with limited cream colored foam. Aroma is rich: sweet, resinous, and herbaceous. Body is medium-dense and with some stickiness. Quite some tongue tickling from intense carbonation in the mouth. Taste is bitter, yes, but rich and full, with roasted and lightly smoked feeling and a sweet underlying taste. Finish is long.
