UPDATED: MAY 14, 2024 Cloudy heavy over the dull made, fading gold. Enormous fluffy, compact bubble, off white head. Sweet malted nose. Hanging lacework. Citrus tart that stops just shy of bitter. Poignant lacing all over the Tulip even as the beverage recedes. Bona fide cap of head sticks around. The hop presence a doppelgänger for IPA, though just a pale ale. Soothing warmth. Mouthfeel medium. Dry finish. Excellent

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2024 Cans from a 12-pack. Orange-yellow and hazy, but this is not at all a NEIPA. Lots of hop flavor - apricot, grapefruit - but also a good hit of bitterness. There's some malt body to it, but it's really hop forward. One of the better APAs, but not 4.2+ for me.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2024 Draft at Chimney Rock, 3/9/24. How the hell have I never ticked this on Rate beer? Clear gold. White grass. Solid lace. Grapefruit, pine, grass. Slightly herbal. A classic.

Metalchopz (7165) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 28, 2023
UPDATED: NOV 28, 2023 Part of 12 can 'It's Not Normal' variety pack purchased in Vermont on a trip. Deep golden colour with an amber hue. A white frothy cap, staying a while and leaving a bunch of dirty lacing clouds. Big grassy nose with some mild, sweet, fruity malts in the background. Hints of mint, oats and soap do appear after breathing, to slack off the big, deep green nose. The taste shows raisins mostly, but the hops help cut the richness, and being an APA, all is milder - but still present. A nice West Coast style Pale Ale with the grassiness and raisins for those who like this hoppiness.

Zlotta (8995) - Hagen, GERMANY - NOV 19, 2023
UPDATED: NOV 20, 2023 0.355 l can, canned already in February 2023, gift from a friend. Hazy, orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Quite fruity, gently resiny aroma of orange jam, grapefruit, mango and pine. Quite sweet, moderately bitter, rather fruity, fairly resiny taste of massive pine, grapefruit, orange jam and some mango, followed by a medium long, quite bitter, sticky finish. Full body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Delicious stuff, fairly old school, unfortunately a bit old. Glad to have tried it anyway.

Cimbasso (2034) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 30, 2023
UPDATED: SEP 30, 2023 On tap at Miller’s Pub in Chicago after a long and thirsty drive from St. Louis. A clear amber colour with a white head. Good malt taste and a delicious flavour of Citra hops with notes of pine, bitter orange peel and grass. Exactly the right amount of bitterness to make a tasty and well-balanced APA. Medium carbonation. Highly recommended!
