COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Men døm selv.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2023 I have saved a bottle from 2015 and just popped it. Still very fresh with some signs of getting close to the top. The coffee malt is still very on the top but the body is a little “sour” but still well balanced. Fantastic beer

Idiosynkrasie (16069) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 18, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 18, 2021 500ml bottle [cellared for about seven years]. Jet black colour with minimally late awakening, small to average, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish and roasty, chocolately and caramel malty aroma, notes of dark caramel, treacle, dark chocolate, some liquorice, toffee, whiffs of burnt coffee, a touch of Bourbon, cautious nutty overtones. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty, minimally caramel malty, notes of coffee, roast, dark chocolate, a touch of dark caramel, ashes, leather, liquorice, a touch of nutty bitterness as well (walnut), slightly grassy, bitter hoppy notes increase the already present bitterness; lingering, bitter roasty malty and bitter grassy hoppy finish. Oily to viscous texture, smooth, soft, slightly cloying, simultaneously dry palate, medium, surprisingly active, prickly carbonation. Very bitter due to a combonation of roasty malty and hoppy bitterness, slightly blurred flavours - sturdy Impy Stout.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2020 (Bottle) Pitch black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with espresso, dark chocolate, cacao, soy sauce, liquorice and hints of mint and citrus peel. Malty, roasted taste with sweet espresso, dark chocolate, liquorice, soy sauce, burnt sugar, roasted nuts, citrus peel and a balanced citric/coffee bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, with a touch of sweetness. Thick and rounded mouthfeel. Powerful, still in excellent balance, hiding its 11% pretty well. Very nice.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2020 A glass of The Fundamental Blackhorn from Hornbeer in Kirke Hyllinge, Denmark, on draft at Olympen in Oslo.   The Fundamental Blackhorn is an 11% abv imperial stout, brewed with coffee malt, chocolate malt, black malt and honey, hopped to an IBU of 120, then dry hopped for aroma and aged on oak with walnut.   It poured pitch black and thick in the glass, with a massive brown head. It had an awesome aroma, starting out with coffee and black chocolate, then, as it warmed up, honey / syrup, and toasted nuts. It had a full bodied mouthfeel, with a velvety smooth, creamy texture. The flavor started with a good sweet character, malt, honey and maple syrup, balanced by fresh, roasted coffee. Then the bitterness kicked in, creating a long, very long, hoppy aftertaste with receding sweetness.   This is an awesome imperial stout, complex but fairly harmonic, with a long, long aftertaste. Another favorite from Hornbeer.
